  • Could a plugin work to this end?

  • Well, you can also take part in the compos for a chance of winning a license. There's one in Reddit and another with HBGames.

  • Ashley has his hands full, true. He *might* better reroute his energies, possibly true. I believe that this translation addition was an afterthought, because in the release notes he clearly states it is an unfinished feature. The bugs you encounter are nothing more than normal, and the frequent release schedule helps to prevent that they stay unsolved for a ridiculous amount of time (other game engines have bugs that are overlooked for years).

Of course the most demanding users are quick to notice the bugs, and almost immediately report them. Ashley very quickly responds and tags them as solved, usually in minutes.

Not a bad tradeoff, I'd say.

  • You are a dog. You want a bone. Go get a bone.

Usually my ideas start like this. Most of them, start backwards. I envision the end and proceed filling up to the beginning. Just never complete them, though.

  • Of course Stencyl is doing better. It came first. Flash, even now in it's sunset is a robust technology, widely supported by all browsers with no kind of difference, has integrated support in gaming portals and every kind of social networks.

Stencyl took advantage of that and used it the best it could. It used everything existing and provided support for it. Users knew exactly what to expect, and flash was dominant.

You can take flash wherever you want, and run it. Support still exists and Flash will still last. In my mind, Flash IS integral to the web experience.

Construct is yet the new kid on the block and the only constraints it has are those present in HTML5. For a while, if not always, Construct will be shadowed by Stencyl.

Should we as users care? I think not.

  • Show us. I'm interested in this.

Why don't you use the free version of Construct? It's like... No programming required, so there's no difficulty there.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Programming was not the main focus in Construct. If you want to get your hands dirty, there's a lot of tools that can get you that. Or you could just go the manly men route and get an IDE, like Programmers' Notepad or something and type away.

In Construct, you just have to make the concession of accepting that the code you create is not typed. Not severe, really. If you REALLY need to use code because something you want is not there, you can always suggest it's inclusion in future builds or get a plugin done.

If you want to clean up your project, just open c2runtime.js in your project folder and edit it afterwards.

I too asked that question, but C2 is great as it is, so I decided to accept it and I'm quite pleased with it.

  • Yes it can. Quite nicely, I might add.

  • Good stuff, thanks!
