  • another way is this:

on the objects that can be clicked, add an instance variable called "active" set it to 0.

when the object is clicked, set "active" to 1.

if it must check another object is active first do this:

ObjectToCheck compare parameter "active" = 1

then set ObjectClicked "active" to 1

  • Hard to explain easily without screenshots, but's here the technical answer in short if it helps:

create a dictionary with keys set to the UID of the objects its possible to click, and set the dictionarys values to 0. When you click an object, you can check if they have what you want thats required to click it (i.e. GET from dictionary where UID is a different object already clicked OR check a global variable OR something else) and if thats successful, set the key to 1.

Then the dictionary will be storing references for all the items that were clicked.

  • you can set the player to a global object and all its pins... check the properties for "Global"

  • Hey guys,

just added 'Dark Underground' to the arcade it can be played here:

    https://www.scirra.com/arcade/underground-jam/dark-underground-2140

I know it's bad to ask, but could you let me know if you find any issues? I've had limited time to get this around a few testers.

Also - yes, I agree the graphics aren't all that great - I just wanted to have my first Construct 2 Jam ticked off the list while I continue to work on AstroColonist

    Thanks

  • wow... pretty cool, I bet that grid system was a pain. so what about accountability, is that built in? e.g. "Sarah had the device so she should have check the temps at 10am"

  • I used this same technique but I seem to be getting a weird offset issue

  • Really not sure coz i've never tried anything on mobile like this.. could this article help?

    https://www.scirra.com/manual/182/file-chooser

  • Not sure if this will do everything you need but there is a plugin here:

    https://www.scirra.com/forum/plugin-mobile-camera-cocoonjs_t109624

and you can resize sprites in events etc... Using "Object Set Width" "Object Set Height" and "Object Set Size" and "Object Set Scale"

  • repent and confession for your sins. Lol - You could use iframe, there is a plugin for C2 floating around somewhere, just google "construct 2 iframe plugin"

  • JUST A GUESS - You deleted an object from the project - the code is trying to read the "type" property from that object, and throwing the error.

Find the object in the event sheet that was deleted, and delete the condition/action.

  • oh i do have one question - how did you achieve the tables for the temperature logs?

  • Uhhh... Super... 'Cool'...! Obviously I don't know much about needing this app, since I don't work in the food industry - but I'll assume it's something they need!

I love the idea of using C2 for apps like this. Good luck and it looks usable so far. Go speak to some designer about the graphics though, don't let that stop any potential success
