  • Ah thanks for letting me know. That's such a bummer. I was able to get Big Picture mode to work on my end, though sometimes with a weird sound delay. So I'm not sure what the exact issue is with some of my users. Guess there isn't much I can do.

    Thanks again MadSpy.

  • Ah thanks for the clarification Is there a fix for this?

  • Thanks for the response

My users have reported that they just get a black screen when opening up the game from Steam in Big Picture Mode. They get audio but just a black screen. I presume this has something to do with the fullscreen action, but I am not sure.

    Thanks again.

  • Hi all,

Has anybody had any problems with their C2 games not showing in Steam Big Picture mode? My users have reported that all they get is audio with a black screen. I made a local multiplayer game so getting my game to show in Steam Big Picture Mode is a crucial thing.

Is this an issue with Fullscreen? Should I use browser fullscreen or nwjs maximize? Thanks!

And if you were curious to the game, it's Ballistic Tanks. http://store.steampowered.com/app/493060

Took a little too long to make for a simple game. Was quite the learning experience, though thank you Construct 2 for being so beginner friendly. Couldn't have done it without this amazing engine. Also, thank you for never breaking my game, none of the updates caused any issues.

I usually get asked how I did the explosions and other effects like the glow. Well that is just a nice soft blurry sprite set to additive blending in Construct 2, this is on top of my explosion animation sprite.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • This looks fantastic! Can't wait until it comes out.

Thanks! I'm pretty excited to release it myself!

Hectic! Great job and it looks very well made. Read the thread on Reddit and it seems you've got a winner on your hands.

Thank you! Did you read the WIP of the game? Took a bit to make it look presentable.

Awesome! Looks really cool!!! Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much, I appreciate it.

Thank you so much for the response. I'll have to seriously look into this and consider it. I've encountered the tutorial but it was a bit daunting and confusing for me so I held off on reading through all of it. Seeing the demand for online, I am seriously considering adding online multiplayer.

  • oosyrag Thanks for the reply and thanks for the compliment. I have no idea on what I might be dealing with so that's why I'm even asking.

Because from what I assumed, the multiplayer plugin connects browsers together? And everybody just jumps into a P2P server of some sort. Can the multiplayer plugin limit up to 4 players and do matchmaking? Taking to account that I won't be relying on Steam, but my game will be exported as NW.js, does it still work?

  • Is it possible? I know Construct 2 has online multiplayer functions, but what I want to know is if it doable when you have your game on Steam as well?

I recently put up my game on Greenlight and there has been demand for online multiplayer. I'm still new at all of this, so I want to know if it is possible before I even try to attempt it.

And just to give you an idea of my game, it's a top-down LOCAL multiplayer shooter.

A little more info on my thread here:

  • Wow! Awesome effects.

Thanks! Just saw your post as well, good stuff! You're effects are sick as well!

  • Already voted on greenlight

the presentation was very cool and the game looks great!

Cool, thanks! Glad to know that the presentation is nice

  • Voted! Good game! Good job man!

    Woot! Thanks man!

    looks awesome...

I didn't even know it was a C2 game.. I had already voted on your game before I saw this thread!

    Cool! Thank you so much!

Yeah, C2 can be quite capable if you use it right.
