  • Good luck for your future projects. May I ask you that after a few weeks-months of ClickTeam Fusion, please come back and write your opinion about that engine compared to C2?

  • I'm not sure it would work, but it might worth a try: Disable updates for C2 in Steam, then download the desired Construct 2 version from the offical website and install it. Finally, copy your installed files and replace the ones located in the Steam version's directory.

Personally, I'd like to see some badly designed event programming engines to follow the great example Construct 2 provides. I don't mean that they should clone it, but it's a good thing if they rethink their methods (this is especially true for CF, because their event system is ancient).

In any case I think Scirra is very aware of what ClickTeam is doing (and vice versa of course) and thus keeps public information about Construct 3 to a minimum and rightfully so!

If and when Scirra thinks it to be appropriate to release any info about C3 I will enthusiasticly read it

    +1

Well at the end I can just hope that CT Fusion 3.0 will not be a "C2 lookalike" engine with free exporters and a low price because that would literally mean the end of Construct 3.)

I don't think Scirra should worry about that. CF pricing is not expected to be dropped imo.

  • I tried this but this option it's only working in Preview mode, and it's about when you click outside of your web browser, not about the tabs... :/

I just checked the manual. Sorry, my mistake.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Hi!

You can set this in the project settings under the "Pause on unfocus" section.

  • Intel GPUs are really weak, I don't know if they will run anything well

Well, my i3-3110m could run Guild Wars 2 on medium settings, so I'd expect these chips to handle an average 2D game.

  • It's always good to see a happy developer

  • There is no limitation on the admob object or any of the monenanization features - they are available even in the free version.

But don't forget that there is a limitation that free users can't publish commercial products. If they want to make money in any way with a Construct 2 made game they have to get a personal license.

Using Clickteam's tools I sometimes get unexpected behavior when I try to put too many actions on the same event line. For example, on a Start of Frame event if you try to read data from an array and then use that data there can be issues. So you have to create another Start of Frame event and put the new actions there. Is this a problem in C2, as well?

I haven't seen an issue like this with Construct 2. You can put as many actions next to an event as you want.

  • Also I seriously doubt you can do anything productive on a <5" screen.

I agree. Handheld devices aren't for software development. There are some examples, but these apps usually are very limited and not comfortable to work with. Not because the UI design, but because of the device. Would you write your thesis on a phone or tablet with the good designed on-screen keyboard? These devices were mostly designed to consume content with, not to make them.

  • My best bet would be using social sites for that. There is a C2 developer group on Facebook.

  • As far as I know you can't make events to trigger is someone closes the browser window. However with some workaround (for ex. checking the mouse position or the commonly pressed shortkeys, like CTRL+W) you should be able to make an event that if someone is about to close that window the game fires a save game action.

It's good news. Thank you for the information ASHLEY.
