  • I just added some portals to my platformer game. However I want to achieve proper redirection of vectors (speedy thing goes in, speedy thing comes out)

    The portals are side on (as in, attached to the walls.

    All I need is direction/advice on the trig I need to do.

    Regarding the laser, how would you make it more spectacular? Also yellow particles are unfortunately a no-no. To complete the game's atmosphere, it is entirely monochromatic and any yellow particles would be out of place.

    Regarding the enemies: I am not an artist. I am very, very bad at animating, and chose the game based off my abilities. I wouldn't really be able to pull of what you said.

    Regarding the HUD: What do you mean? also you can press shift to hide the HUD (turn the layer to zero opacity).

    EDIT: also, how long did you play? to get up to level 6 should be quite difficult...

    Maybe I need to make it a bit harder to activate the lift?

  • Kyatric Really? Even recently I have tested my game in Firefox, it is extremely laggy and the webGL rendering is blurry.

  • It is worth stating that Scirra is planning on adding WebGl pixel shaders - I assume colouring will be included eventually.

  • Thanks, Sulley. At least they assigned the bug, which means they pay some sort of attention to it.

    We all know that Chrome is, at the moment, the only feasible browser for mildly performance-heavy games, and it is ridiculous that it has this small, yet game-breaking bug.

  • Just a quick question. At the moment, I use webstorage to store a player's high score, and this works well.

    However, for when I want to integrate with Kongregate, I doubt that webstorage will work. The plugin doesn't seem like it supports this and there is nothing in the manual about it...

    EDIT: I suppose we set our statistic to 'max type' or something? This means we would have to be able to GET values from kongregate if we wanted, for instance, a 'highscore' variable in our game, e.g. if we wanted to apply an action if the player beats their high score.

    So, I suppose the question ends up being "can/should I use webstorage in combination with Kongregate?"

    OK, anyway, looks good, only in future make sure that you can't just run through the level.

  • A few little things:

    1. make the text z-ordered behind the player.

    2. perhaps making the text slightly transparent would be effective?

    3. the blue platforms are a bit out-of-atmosphere.

    Otherwise, it shows much potential!
