  • The game is still at a very early stage. I am adding things as time permits. At present the game is only 20% complete. There will be numerous enemies once the game is finished. The car is a placeholder. There will be a number of animated vehicles in the final version of the game. The graphics will see some improvement prior to completion however I am aiming for it to have a rather retro look. I do have permission to use the picture of that woman as she is my wife.

The following short video demonstrates the death animations for two of the pedestrians. Just read the associated blurb for more info.

Further information about what I'm trying to achieve can be found on the campaign page:

    Splat Campaign

I would also like to say that the idea for this campaign is not to make money (although that would be nice!) but rather to gather some increased exposure for the game. The traffic on my website each day is only a handful of people and I'm hoping that on Indiegogo more people will see this as I develop over the next couple of months.

  • Good idea Paradox!

  • Thanks for the comment. I would say though that there is a big difference between a realistic driving game and what is essentially a 2d platform game. I would be interested in the views of others though!

I should say that Carmageddon is actually one of my favourite games and a major influence on the development of this particular game.

    Cheers

    Brandon

  • A video showing early animation of pedestrian sprites can be seen here:

This is a short clip showing 3 different pedestrian sprites walking around. At present the car doesn't collide with the sprites.Death animations are still to be developed as are the various sound effects.

  • I've recently started working on a Construct 2 game called Splat.

    <img src="http://www.lifescaper.net/Untitled.png" border="0">

It's still in a very early stage but the game has an associated Indiegogo campaign:

Please check it out if you are interested.

  • At this stage I'm leaning towards a 50/50 profit sharing model from adsense revenue. I would likely introduce a payment threshold before a payment was made. For example, the minimum payment might be $5. To reach this your game would need to earn $10 in adsense revenue. Then the revenue would be split 50/50 and I would pay the game creator their $5. All payments would be via paypal. This is just a rough idea of how this would work. Full details will be provided on my website in the next few days.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • That's something I need to think about. There is a fair chance their will be ads. Whether I introduce profit sharing is another matter. I'm certainly not opposed to this. I'll investigate what other similar sites do and come up with a model of how it will work. I'll make an announcement on this in the near future.

  • Hi all,

I've recently started experimenting with Construct 2 and I must say that I'm impressed with this development tool. I intend to make a variety of games and host them on my website. I've also decided that I would like to give others the opportunity to showcase their creations. I'm prepared to host good quality completed HTML5 games on my site   www.smartstarttools.com. At the moment I have a single page as a placeholder for HTML5 content but I intend to expand this to be a complete section comprised of multiple pages showcasing the creations of others. I will eventually allow submission of games via an embedded form but for now any interested game creators can email thier contributions to me at games@smartstarttools.com. The copyright of all submitted content will remain with the creator. I will give full attribution to the game creator and am happy to publish a link to a personal page if the submitter wants this. Publishing your game on SmartStartTools will allow you to gain exposure for your games without having them get lost amongst the thousands of games available on some of the bigger game hosting sites.
