Hi all,
I've recently started experimenting with Construct 2 and I must say that I'm impressed with this development tool. I intend to make a variety of games and host them on my website. I've also decided that I would like to give others the opportunity to showcase their creations. I'm prepared to host good quality completed HTML5 games on my site www.smartstarttools.com. At the moment I have a single page as a placeholder for HTML5 content but I intend to expand this to be a complete section comprised of multiple pages showcasing the creations of others. I will eventually allow submission of games via an embedded form but for now any interested game creators can email thier contributions to me at games@smartstarttools.com. The copyright of all submitted content will remain with the creator. I will give full attribution to the game creator and am happy to publish a link to a personal page if the submitter wants this. Publishing your game on SmartStartTools will allow you to gain exposure for your games without having them get lost amongst the thousands of games available on some of the bigger game hosting sites.
Will there be adds on said pages?
If so will there be some share in that profit?
That's something I need to think about. There is a fair chance their will be ads. Whether I introduce profit sharing is another matter. I'm certainly not opposed to this. I'll investigate what other similar sites do and come up with a model of how it will work. I'll make an announcement on this in the near future.
At this stage I'm leaning towards a 50/50 profit sharing model from adsense revenue. I would likely introduce a payment threshold before a payment was made. For example, the minimum payment might be $5. To reach this your game would need to earn $10 in adsense revenue. Then the revenue would be split 50/50 and I would pay the game creator their $5. All payments would be via paypal. This is just a rough idea of how this would work. Full details will be provided on my website in the next few days.
50/50? That's not fair. 80/20 should go to the developer.
SmartStartTools, developers might be interested in the traffic stats for your site so they can judge if the deal is worthwhile for them.
It's win/win someone is hosting your stuff, don't be greedy.

Host's are a dime a dozen. The only thing he might be able to offer is traffic, Hence Ash's post.
Anyway, before talking money, both parties should focus on delivering content.
SmartStartTools should enrich his HTML5 page and Urled should provide a HTML5 game.
Than money talks would be relevant.
That's the way I see it.
Adsense doesn't generate enough money worth fighting over unless the website is getting ridiculous amount of traffic :)
Kyatric is right. Focus on content!

My point still stands, your post was pointless. Moral of the story, don't be greedy.
Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.
The fixed Illusion Mage Advertising let me doubt on seriousness of this site. <img src="smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0" align="middle" />
