  • What happens if you add a feature to export animated gif? It would be good reason to beat spritz

  • Dear Construct 2 community:

    THIS IS A

    BIG PROBLEM FOR US.

Our game is 100% pixel-based, with tilemaps. The game is getting big. So big that when we preview the game it takes 20-30 seconds each time. That's minutes of sitting there and waiting each time you want to test if something worked - be it AI, gameplay, level design, ANYTHING regarding the game.

20+ second preview times is UN-BE-LIEVE-A-BLE. Anyone in the game industry would facepalm at the mention of this, considering how "small" our game is. We're seriously working with 8x8px tiles here, folks. Some of our enemies are only 16x16px! No joke!

If some kind of fix is not financially feasible for C2 in a timely fashion, what kind of workarounds would you offer? We're listening.

Well, they don't care at all, they wouldn't allow about how they did develop games for NES in C2. If you post a .capx about it takes 20 second preview it would be considered as evidence.

Otherwise, You have to hack the game design and the game development to get it working.

  • Ashley why don't disable behavior and group events while the engine is running when it's unfocused?

  • Gianmichele Are you serious? Video is part of DOM element.

  • 2 Options

1- Use layer at top using opacity with black color.

2- Use sprite with transparent edges in bigger radio, you can create a composite scene using by only one sprite.

  • I have seen the comments about Nidium, they say that nidium include GUI toolkit as replacement for DOM element such as form, video, etc.

And other thing about node-webkit doesnt enable webgl renderer on some computers, however they say could use opengl on nidium

The dunning-kruger effect is dodgy for the following reason.

Suppose you're in the bottom 10% in any given task. You can't underestimate your performance now, can you?

More importantly, if you're in the top 10%, you're not able to overestimate your performance.

As such, it's impossible for the lowest performers to do anything but overestimate, and the reverse for the highest performers. And as such, it's real dodgy reasoning.

It's not dodgy thing, it's about common knowledge without research, like someone says a game can run better with directx on mac or linux. Why I would post there if I say he's wrong? I dont like to discuss about right or wrong. Everyone has own opinions.

    Stop.

  • Yeah, that's shame but being novice don't really have experience about performance.

I've read a thread about DirectX in C2, it contains dunning-kruger effect. I wouldn't reply there.

  • Is your app is already published on google play or app store?

  • It's more like another CocoonJS including desktop platform such as linux and mac while they have alpha build, I'm not sure about windows version.

  • Nidium is not standard browser such as Chrome, Firefox, etc. They say create native apps using javascript.

  • updated http://www.nidium.com/

    What do you think?
