    i like this 'method'. basically a 'hierarchical else' event. if i understand you correctly.

    i think it may solve ash's main problem, which is to keep the solution as elegant as possible. meaning, no multiple 'else' event statements. instead of that, you have implemented one 'else' with multiple event states, that mirror the intended use. am i reading you right so far.

    it seems like this could solve the problem ash talked about with nested or stacked 'else' events. you could conceivably mix and match the usage to fit the functionality intended;

    event: condition 1

    else> event: condition 2

          else> event: condition 3

                else> event: condition 4

    else> event: condition 5

    if i understand your logic than this event course can be built where;

    conditions 1, 2 and 5 are assessed in parallel while conditions 3 and 4 are optional choices of condition 2

    am i seeing this right?

    to echo the others, this begs a mobile version. even kids could play this, as they learn cognitive skills from it's simple navigation.

    i agree, that multiplayer is too big to take on at this time. in lieu of that choice, i would definitely choose 'event sheet features'. having 'else, and and or' would go miles in making the event sheet programming better match traditional programming logic, which would make the transition of newcomers with 'programming' experience even easier. it would also make c2 a prime candidate for game design and programming classes.

    so i gracefully back down to wiser opinions...lol.

    i don't know if the poll is tracked 'per user', but if so, change my vote to 'event sheet features'.

  • i voted for multiplayer online.

    then i started reading other posts, and i could also see the event features as being equally important. but i read bad arguments about not going with multiplayer. saying that there would be 100 abandoned rpg's is not reason enough to pick event features over multiplayer in my eyes. there are tens to hundreds of 'aaa' rpgs abandoned from development every year, by professionals. not because they don't have multiplayer tech, but because rpgs are hard in every conceivable way, that making a game can be hard. but the multiplayer feature itself would be invaluable to people seeking to make turn-based games, rogue-like crawlers, pong derivatives, board games, racing games, over head combat games, co-op platformers, card games, fantasy card games and list goes on.

    it would also go a long way in bringing more attention, developers and positive press to c2, which we would all benefit from.

    i'm not ranting, i hope...lol. i just don't want people to feel bad about their choices in this poll, because of some narrowly directed criticism.

    like many others have said, this is a veritable christmas list of features to choose from.

    it would be hard to characterize any one choice as wrong.

    non-rant rant over...lol.
