  • it's so pretty what a great use of colour also I have never seen a horror game about space exploration I am very interested, I hope you post more soon

Thank you very kindly mate And oh I will! Stay tuned! Tomorrow I'm starting adding monsters and Mobs<->Player interactions. Things should start getting more interesting from here now.

About the Horror + Space Exploration. Imagine sandboxy Deadspace. Thats where I am heading. I am actually developing a game I would love to play myself.

    Thank you again!

  • two new more

  • Love the backgrounds, they look really cool, as does the lighting.

Looking forward to seeing some more.

Thx mate. I am using a lot of normal maps, shadowing and other 2.5d tricks to make the 2d feel a lot more like 3d.

  • "You reap what you sow."

That goes both ways, you can always make one, or have one commissioned.

It was never part of the deal. I don't owe Scirra anything. And it's not me who is running a business here. Mark my words.

Also, when I've asked around the web, about the Kong plugin updating:

    Guess I'll follow their lead.

  • Alrighty. I give up. I officialy give up. W/e. But don't act suprised when less and less people will take you seriously.

    You reap what you sow.

  • I would much prefer for Kongregate to develop and publish their own C2 plugin, since there are hundreds of third-party services out there, it's a constant burden trying to maintain them, and it's not our API/service (they obviously know their own platform better). Our plugin was developed a few years ago when we were just trying to get off the ground and offer some extra options to developers. I'd encourage you to go to Kongregate about further support.

    Yes but:

    1. Kong is by far the biggest and most profitable one of them all.

    2. They might know their platform but do not know you.

    3. Kongregate is a moloch of portal. Asking them to make the plug is like telling Microsoft it is THEY who should adjust to YOU.

    4. out of those "hundreds" - there are only 3 that matters in case of browser games: Kongregate, Newgrounds and Gamejolt. In that order. Kongregate plugin was made by you, Newgrounds was made but never finished by a user who never comes here anymore, Gamejolt plug was made by GJ staff and is mostly maintained by them.

    5. You do not have to re-invent the wheel. Just add the Video API to already existing plugin.

    6. Burden or not - it is part of the deal. The most native platform for C2-made games are browsers, and you cannot develop games to browsers without trying your luck on Kongregate.

  • So Kongregate just got this new Video API which you can read about here:

    http://developers.kongregate.com/docs/k ... tising-api

Which might enables all Kongregate games to earn a lot more. But in order to get it - we need it implemented into C2 dated Kongregate plugin.

    Ashley Tom ? Any ETA?

  • Space Exploration Sci Fi horror ?

  • Slowly but steady - I'm getting there. Nothing too fancy because its like 2nd week of Dev.

    !!!NEW 2016-07-20!!!

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

To put it simply: A space game went on a date with HR Giger, got wasted and then crazy and had a baby. That baby - is my game.

I love space and everything related. That includes video games, of course. I love the exploration, space battles, huge chunks of metals exploding, lasers being fired. But also the unknown, the feeling of isolation, the numb silence of void.

I also love horror movies and games. Everything twisted, surreal, nightmarish. Alien and Event Horizon frenchise are one of the best examples where Sci-Fi blends with horror genre. And the game will be like that.

As for gameplay - I don't want this to be a shooter type. More like Thief in space. You are fragile, but you also got big guns. So you have to aim carefuly, wait and watch for a good opportunity. Thats for combat.

Now what else - scavenging, surviving. You fly around, collect hidden goodies. Use what you find to upgrade, expand and recover. Try to stay alive as long as possible. Robinson Crusoe in space?

When you are not fighting, running away or scavenging - you dive deep into the game world, trying to understand what exactly is this place, this space. So lots of storytelling. The end of course is when you'll find a way out. But in the meantime - you encounter various events. A bit FTL: Faster Than Light -like. So adventure like pop ups. Sudden scary occurence. Oh and you can walk around your ship.

This is by far not the whole package, but at this stage of development - I just don't want to say too much. I would like to surprise people with features and depth. Not spoil the fun before the game is even done.

  • Irbis ,

nw14.x is based on chromium v50.x and nw15 on chromiumv51.x

they have the same bugfix and improvements (alt+enter crash fix (0.14.5), "on cancel" trigger added for dialog popup (0.14.2)...)

    (source https://github.com/nwjs/nw.js/blob/nw15/CHANGELOG.md )

    ,

    I can take a look

    Hmmm. I see. So 14.0 it is. Thank you MadSpy <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

Off-topic but of real interest for the dev community...

Do you think you can make a plugin that forces iOS devices to set the refresh rate to 30 hz instead of default 60?

I am reading and it seems possible:

    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2128 ... pplication

    https://developer.apple.com/library/pre ... eRate.html

Big games running at 60 hz really kills battery life on mobile devices, there's just no need for it as 30 fps is very playable.

    Irbis

0.13 and 0.14 had some nice performance gains, my testing find around 20-25% better CPU usage for the same 60 fps delivered. However, it also fixes the stutter/jank and memory leak, which you will encounter on 10.5 if you play your game over a long period of time. The bigger your game, the faster you run into these issues.

So what is the actual difference between 14.0 and 14.5? There is any?

  • what about 14.5 MadSpy ? and holy cow - hardcoded dev tool shorcut? O.o And this is EXACTLY why I am always worried to upgrade with Nodekit...

Anyway, I just found a workaround for that nasty F12 without the need of any file switching/swaping.

Make an event with Keyboard object

    IF F12 pressed ->Request attention.

No dev tool will open. Your welcome hah!
