  • Bought it today via Steam. Fifteen bucks on PSN didn't seem quite right, but ten for the PC version seemed okay--I figured it'd get better support, higher res, etc. It's my first time through Limbo and I'm around an hour in, but I find the controls fairly aggravating: The arrow keys control movement, with the "up" key controlling both climbing and jumping. Doesn't work all that well, and there's no way to change the controls or anything else for that matter. Still, really digging Limbo. I'll probably hook up my game-pad shortly.

  • Hi, I've played it on a laptop and pity it's slow, it looks good. I'd guess <30fps, Intel Core2Duo 2Ghz, GeForce 9300M GS 256MB, 3Gb RAM. I'll have to wait for the lowres version. ran into the same speed issues which unfortunately made the whole thing quite unplayable (jump delay being the most unfortunate). I'm also using a laptop, AMD thingamajiggy 2.3ghz, ATI Radeon 3200 1918MB, 4gb RAM. I'm guessing the blur-depth effects are the cause.

Changes things up a bit. I particularly like the textured light grey background as well as the MUCH improved channel layout (I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for a new channel page format). If you're interested, check out TechChrunch's thoughts on the new look.

  • A screenie or two would be really nice. I mean, I have to extract this stuff, man <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />. That aside, GOODNESS. Great work!

  • Congratulations, Phobos!

  • That Amazon is particularly terrifying.

  • Bah, I've been working on my entry for the past fortnight but it's not going to be in a suitable state by the end of the day I'm going to focus on making a proper demo for it instead now though, so all is not lost! Thanks for the motivation to get it started though and sorry I didn't get to enter!

This is true for me as well. Hopefully you'll see my work stemming from this contest at a later date!

  • I really liked the competition idea and enjoyed the challenge of having to use only one layout.

    Same!

  • I've had the contest on my mind the entire summer. . . and so has my final semester of university. No biggie, really. Just keep the contests rolling!

Great minds think alike, my friend! I was also thinking of entering an isometric side-scroller. Best of luck--I'm not so sure I'll finish my game in time

    EDIT: Nevermind. Fixed
