  • tutorial needed before Tizen contest how prepare file :)

    Bump! <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Very nice work! I'll definitely add a link to your website when discussing resources for indie developers in my upcoming Construct 2 book.

  • Link to .capx file (required!):

    NA

    Steps to reproduce:

    Just launch C2

    Observed result:

After installing the latest beta, I get a popup with this error when launching C2:

    ---------------------------

    Construct 2 Check failure

    ---------------------------

Check failure! This is probably a bug:

ACE table: Adding combo param with no options

    Condition: !combo_options.empty()

    File: c:\c2\source\exporters\html5\..\..\common\ERAHelpers.h

    Line: 105

    Function: void __cdecl era::ACETable::AddComboParam(const class std::basic_string<wchar_t,struct std::char_traits<wchar_t>,class std::allocator<wchar_t> > &,const class std::basic_string<wchar_t,struct std::char_traits<wchar_t>,class std::allocator<wchar_t> > &,int,int)

    Build: release 133 (64-bit) checked

    Component: HTML5 exporter

    (Last Win32 error: 0)

You are using a 'checked' release of Construct 2, intended for testing, which causes certain errors to be reported this way. Hit Ctrl+C to copy this messagebox - it's useful information for the developers, so please include it with any bug reports! Click 'Abort' to quit (unsaved data will be lost!),'Retry' to turn off messages for this session and continue, or 'Ignore' to continue normally.

    ---------------------------

    Abort   Retry   Ignore

    Expected result:

    Browsers affected:

    NA

    Operating system & service pack:

    Windows 8 64 bit

    Construct 2 version:

    r133

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I successfully ported my puzzle game Turky on the Run to BlackBerry 10!

    appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/28704889

The process was quite simple (even using the command line approach) and dealing with RIM was very straightforward and fast so this really seems like a good platform to develop for (really, I found the submission procedure much easier to follow and understand than for iOS or W8. Besides, signing for a developer account is free!)

One warning though: at first, I submitted my game with letterbox scaling and it was rejected for that very reason (they don't want sidebars). Be sure you submit yours with the right resolution covering the whole screen!

    Cheers!

  • Any news on this?

Looks like Ouya dev kits are starting to ship! <img src="smileys/smiley41.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Ah! If only we could dock with a simple click in Elite! I remember crushing my ship so many times! :P

You did a fantastic work indeed, congratulations!

On a side note, though, I'd change the name of the game, especially if you plan selling or monetizing it somehow: Elite II was actually named Frontier and Frontier Developments is currently at work with Elite Dangerous so, calling your space trading game Frontier as well may be... 'dangerous' (sorry for the terrible pun!)

    Keep up the great work!

  • As said, this was discussed many times before already and it seems the task is too big for a team with limited time and resources that is focusing on adding other features.

Anyway, I do agree that a "native" (I mean, Scirra's) wrapper for iOS and Android supporting IAP, multiple ads and Game Center would be fantastic (me too bought C2 for making mobile games).

A possible suggestion would be to follow the footsteps of the guys who develop Spine: they just ended a very successful campaign on kickstarter to fund the development of new features for their 2D animation software.

If Scirra would go this way (kickstarter or Indiegogo or whatever) to get money to fund the development of their own wrapper (and maybe a few other features that the community thinks are important but troublesome to make without further support), I'd definitely be happy to contribute.

    Cheers!

  • Sogen, I guess by "free version" you mean Construct Classic (and not the 100 event limited trial) in the hope to turn free CC users into paid C2 ones, right? Not sure whether this could work, though it may make a little more sense than killing the C2 Free Edition which is fundamental for spreading the word about the tool...

  • Check Spine at http://esotericsoftware.com/

Right now, I think the only way to import the animation in Construct from there is to export the frames individually but in the stretch goals of their just ended kickstarter campaign, a JS runtime was specified. Hopefully this will allow for an easy integration...

  • Interesting - I'll see if I can get GameCenter support in a future release.

That would really be great: waiting eagerly for it! :)

  • CocoonJS (what you can use to deploy your game on iOS and Android) has extensions for handling IAP and ads :)

  • Yes, especially now with the new path finding behavior included in r117 making tower defense like games should be relatively easy.

Regarding iOS performance, I have only an iPhone 3GS and my latest simple action/puzzle game ( itunes.apple.com/us/app/turky-on-the-run/id574243211 ) works very well on it with no particular performance issue (I used CocoonJS).

    Good luck!
