  • You know with a slight modification this could work out to be a VERY fun 4 person hockey (or air hockey) game.

Make the paddles smaller and give it mouse control.

    *getting out my quarters*

  • What if you broke up your super large background into say 4 layouts ( if it were a big square). Then jump to the next one when you hit the border.

I am saying this with out testing and guessing that Textures only use VRam only on the current one\. er.. Right?

  • Good point.

    Thanks you

  • Sort of getting it. Code is still easier for me.

But why did you move Forest to Start of layout? So it only runs once? In this case is I think it is not necessary but was that for better form or future problem solving?

Thanks R0J0hound, your Top Dog with me.

Oh Top Dog? I smell title. LOL

  • I am still struggling with the boxes, I miss the code case statement. LOL

So where did I go wrong? And is there an easier way to structure the random monster selection? (note only forest works now)

    Thanks

  • Also, you might want to think about a single particular time rather than all day, and mention the timezone as well so everyone can sync, if you're serious...

Since we have people from so many time zones I was just thinking we can just stay logged in all day. Anyone have another suggestion?

Also I hope we get a few people trying for the achievement award and adding a Wiki entry!

We can beat those nasty bots! Woo Hoo!!!!!!

  • Reminder to log on and stay logged on for April first.

Leave a message here that you did and I will add you the list of people participating in the new record attempt.

As an added bonus make an entry to the wiki page ( and post here). and you will get and achievement award! do 2 entrees and get 2 awards, etc.

Being an cheerleader here for group participation.

    Go Team!

  • After thinking about this, why not make your game in C++? There are many Packages that make game programming with C++ as easy as Construct (but you have to code them) All the messy graphics and sound are made easy, and you can even do full 3d with them. The only draw back is you have to pay for them, but $50 - $200. Though if you have a good enough game the price is not a factor.

The bottom line is if i wrote C++ games in those packages you can too. LOL

  • Am I missing this?

But I would really like to print out the Event Sheet Editor so I do not have to be on my PC to look at it. Or print out others lists to learn off of.

  • Well I had this all wrong. I thought he wanted random trees for a side scroll-er. In that case I would have used the same tree and and had the game do the random(VALUE) as QuaziGNRLnose suggested and then have random sizes of the same tree.

    Nice example SacceuS.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Why isn't this on the wiki tutorials? Lots of nice concepts and ideas here.

  • what if you end up being the only guyon here

    Then the jokes on me!

but this might be a fun community activate that requires no work at all
