  • this problem occured when i was trying to make animations for my game.

I created an event "check left arrow is pressed" if it is true then set global variable 'pressed' to '1' ELSE set it to '0'. this condition works correctly, but if I create another condition "Check right arrow is pressed" then set 'pressed' to '1' ELSE set it to '0'. Now, this condition is detected but not the previous one. But if I rearrange the event and place the "left arrow" condition in the last, then it works but not the "right arrow" one.

I tried invert condition instead of ELSE but it didn't work. Tested it on both 0.99.84 and 0.99.91 and same thing happens on both.

    here's the cap:

    0.99.91 game cap

use debug to see the change in value of the variable.

the condition is in the playercontrol event sheet

    0.99.84 test cap

EDIT: sorry, i think i didn't save the the 0.99.91 cap after adding the condition, i'll add them quickly now

    edit 2: 0.99.91 cap replaced

Please no. I use the image editor very often.

totally agree, the image editor is pretty useful for making some quick box sprites for prototypes as well as some tweaking.

  • nice game, somewhat like canabalt except that it's colourful

  • [quote:12ivdzck]Indeed. Right click on the file, select install. It's actually the same thing, as Windows recognizes the fonts folder as a "special" folder.

Also, your game will probably need an installer that installs said files (I haven't tested it).

I suggest Spritefont. It looks prettier anyway

you mean right now if we export the game, we also have to bundle the fonts with it??

  • [quote:3imcxetu]Amen! We need more fonts, too. I've been wishing for Westminster. I type it in but it doesn't go, so I guess it's not in Construct.

you have to add those fonts to make them work. Download the fonts and paste the font file in Control Panel>Fonts.

  • don't know if this has been fixed in 0.99.95

when a text object is inserted, to change the font we have to write the name of the font. It would be better to have a drop down menu since many times some fonts have very long names and remembering them or copying them is tedious.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • [quote:2j0wc6oq]Linux is the only other viable platform to run the development tools on... other than Apple.

That's one of the reasons it should be given higher priority.

Plus you need to remember the devs are only thinking of having one other non os to export to.

Bringing in Linux's user base might actually help to get some of the other formats ported.

that's my point, instead of first focusing on new runtimes the devs should focus on making the software itself crossplatform, so that linux users can join, they could also help in porting it to other platforms. Making software crossplatform has a positive impact on the public, why GameSalad is not that popular?? because it's Mac only.

    [quote:2j0wc6oq]

The thing that I worry about is that setting up for an export is almost like reinventing the wheel.

We have two dev's with no pay. Only a pat on the back, and few donations here and there.

Ash mentioned something about a pay version... perhaps these versions that have export to other platforms should be the ones people pay for.

That's the biggest factor, maybe making people pay for the Xbox export will be nice, and charging some fee for making a commercial game from Construct.

  • [quote:3phieygz]In a hierarchy of 1 to 10 (1 highest, 10 lowest), I'd say it's:

    1. Internet-based (Flash, Java)

    2. xna (though I'd want an xna export first, Flash clearly has the biggest reach).

    3. Phones

4-9. Anything you can think of.

    10. Mac

    ...

    ... 20. Linux

Yep, 10 and 20 are that low on purpose

    Linux at the bottom

Sounds like all of you want your games to run on the platforms from where you can get money.

I'm not saying that Export to Consoles shouldn't be there, but it should be given lower priority than linux and internet platforms, since there are a lot of people out there who are running linux.

But whatever you say, since Construct will be OpenGl based then running Construct and it's exported game on Linux will not be such a problem.

    A Time Manipulation Platfomer.

Just the prototype is completed now, has some bugs.

    here's a small demo

Edit: Hold Z to go back in time, release Z to teleport there.

  • didn't know that GJ had a revenue system, just checked my game and it had earned per day something under $0.05 , the portal is new, and and many games don't get views they deserve, another portal worth mentioning would be IndieDB, although there is no revenue system there.

Drat! I was hoping to have the first commercial construct game, but it looks like you'll beat me to it.

i think alspal(Alastair John Jack) has already created the first commercial game, Arvoesine (reviewed on TIGSource)

  • i have the same problem, when I load the model it's fine, but when I apply a texture, it is not applied correctly, (it could be some fault from my side since I don't not much about 3d and textures)

  • the game is really nice, but sadly there is no survival mode in the free version and the sandbox style in the free version is not very addicting to me.

When I saw the videos by X, the game reminded me of the Discovery show Man Vs. Wild

kind of offtopic but does anyone know any similar survival game ??
