  • I found the issue - my grabbing and releasing code is executing at the same time, so I needed to add a boolean to tell the code to not execute at the same time (tell me if I'm confusing you).

Thanks for trying to help me.

  • Hi again,

I want the cursor to "grab" an item in my inventory, but I can't seem to do that.

I have the code, but it does nothing. Debugging reveals that when I click on the object, it says that the inspected item is destroyed when it's not destroyed. Which makes me think it's destroying and creating on the same frame.

I don't know if this is the right topic to post this question in.

    Thanks!

  • Actually, scratch that, I made the inventory window global (keeping them on the same layout and put the items on a global layout and it works.

    Thanks!

  • Sorry, but both of the options you suggested don't work. I also don't mean returning to inventory layout.

Also, the inventory is separate to each layout. Maybe arrays?

  • Hi again,

I followed this tutorial: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdhFzrF1UhQ) to make an inventory system. However, the items in the inventory doesn't save between layouts. How do I make it do that?

My first instinct is to use the object type 'Local Storage', but I wondered if you had any other ideas.

  • I'm happy to report that the third tutorial (animation management) worked. Thank you.

Now how do I mark a post as the solution?

  • Hi again,

I've been trying to figure out how to make my character play an animation based on the direction they're moving on a path (e.g., if the character is moving right, the right walking animation should play), like you see in most point and click games. Unfortunately, I haven't had any luck. Can I have some help with that?

    Thank you!

  • Hey everyone,

This might be a confusing question for you, but how do I make smooth animations (or transitions) between sizes when I mouse over my buttons, and vice versa? I looked everywhere on the internet and found nothing.

I have a basic knowledge of Construct 3 and I already have the mouseover code sorted.

    Thanks!
