  • Thanks, I will have a look.

  • Re-installed windows xp today and when installing construct, I get an error message when it tries to download the "DirectX SDK Update (December 2006)...".

I've tried to install v0.99.42: same result.

Error message: "setup can't download the file. Please try again later or check your network connection".

I don't experience other problems with my pc.

Did anyone experience this same problem?

Is it ok to manually search for this directx sdk, to get Construct (0.99.5) working?

  • I tried it but.. Not as I expected! It is nice but I think it isn't made to do large\complex games.

    Why not?

I will not try it, I think. But interested in it anyway.

  • In my cap I have 1 container containing 2 sprites.

I forgot it was connected to eachother and made the following code:

    Function: On function "Function2"

    <Sprite2> Destroy Sprite2[/code:l66xgvgx]

I started to preview and while Function 2 was not called yet, the 2nd member of the container (Sprite 1) showed unexpected behaviour: being visible, while it shouldn't, or stopped moving while it should move.

(I changed "destroy Sprite2" into making it invisible. And everything is working as expected.)

Should this be considered as a bug, or as a request to implement a question when trying to destroy/delete members of a container?

By the way, I know that when clicking on a sprite, in Layout Editor, all members of the container turn yellow. It could be that the developers might think: that's enough for now, concerning container-related help.

    2nd part (pokerface) is not so very well done^^;

I like the 1st part: the song itself and rivers' voice, doing his version.

    Enjoy, you 2d-fanatics

Excuse me for being off-topic, but try to rephrase comments in a more friendly way.

  • on front page, in the post "Nominations closed".

  • I just install it to a differently named folder.

Also, you only need to accept the DirectX and VS runtimes if you haven't installed them yet.

I always think: perhaps this directx/vs update is newer? So I install it always.

It should all be fine if you just put them in different folders. There may be potential conflicts with dialog positions/sizing in some versions due to only one set of data being stored in the registry, but it shouldn't ever be a real problem.

    Ok, thanks.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • If I want to use multiple versions of Construct, is there something I should pay attention to?

Should I install the different versions in different folders?

Should I accept the directx and visual studio-install with both versions?

Does it matter if I install the newest version first and the older version of Construct later (or other way around)?
