  • Ah... of course I was using an overcomplicated broken method... Thank you.

...now I need to go fix Australopithecus. Curse your lying tutorials.

  • I could make the main character a brighter shade of gray, that would help with the contrast issue.

  • Yeah, I did use your tutorial.

But I did see a reason for it, the sprite gets blurred occasionally without it. Haven't seen the updated tutorial. I just don't think it looks good when the sprite gets blurred.

  • Sorry, forgot about that.

Just jump on the platforms and eventually you'll end up floating around on one.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

    It's called Eat World.

Except I need to change the name now because everyone seems to immediately associate it with "Jimmy Eats World."

  • Just a minor problem I've noticed while working on my new game and my last one is with the platforming behavior, when the character jumps onto a platform occasionally he'll become stuck in the falling animation until he falls or jumps again. Its a minor problem and seems to only happen when you just barely make it onto a platform, but its still somewhat annoying. Is there some way to fix this?

  • I'm starting working on a game that will require many unique graphics. My worry is that working in Construct is going to become cluttered and difficult very fast. The objects are all just graphics that serve no purpose to the gameplay, is there an effective way to do this?

  • Just messing around with things I accidentally got this:

Makes me want to make some sort of... cloud world game or something...

  • Theres an easier (lame) version of the game up on Game Jolt if anyones interested. Seems like some people were challenged by the original...

    Uh... what?

I'm guessing you don't play many PC games... keyboard+mouse is often the best for any kind of game with "aimed shooting", though W,A,S,D is usually easier than arrow keys IMO.

I can't stand play a game that uses the mouse and the arrow keys, always W,A,S,D for me. And I play lots of PC games.

  • Couldn't play for long, arrow keys and mouse aim are extremely uncomfortable controls. You might also want to consider a life bar instead of one hit kills. Also, the player moves very sluggishly and can't even jump directly onto the first platform as far as I can tell.

  • Update: Added a 'lil doggy for you to follow around and a somewhat different ending.

ALSO, Game Jolt is pretty nifty.
