  • Just finished my new game a day or two ago and forgot to post it here!

Being Struck By Lightning is Probably The Best Way That You Can Die On Account of All Its Awesomeness!

    Trailer

Its also been featured on the IndieGames.com Blog! (Which makes me happy)

The game itself is very simple, just move with the arrow keys and press Z to jump.

  • Thanks, I'll go change it. Also, my internet is being incredibly dumb so you can go ahead and report the bug. It took me 15 minutes to get to the forums, so I'm just gonna go work on my game.

There ya go. I don't know if was saved with the layer zoom on or not, haven't checked. I'm pretty sure its saved like that, though.

  • Yeah, I've done that already, it still doesn't look good. The tearing is really only between my water object, which is semi-transparent, so maybe that's worth mentioning.

  • I've been trying to increase the scale of my game using layer zoom, but it always turns out looking terrible. There are seams between blocks and every things blurry. Is there a way to do this so it looks nicer?

  • Linked my blog to GameJolt. That site is pretty spiffy.

(If anyone has a GameJolt account already, I'd greatly appreciate some more ratings on my games, I have a total of 4 or 5 votes I think on both and someone went through and gave both 1's (not saying go and give them 5's, say whatcha think.))

  • Didn't get my spiffy logo up yet, but I've started a blog and named a company just so I could be all formal / fancy 'n stuff. Here it is: Scapegoat Software

Also started working on a new game, currently without a name. A screenshot of what I have so far is on the blog, its not much.

As for the gameplay, I'm trying to do something slightly different than what most platformers do, at least I hope. Its a single screen platformer that involves doing different task for people throughout the game world. You'll have different task to get you different places, and the gameplay for different task will have a few different styles. Going in different directions will cause the game to change to your play style.

For instance, if you only complete task the involve more platforming skill, platforming puzzles will get increasingly difficult as you go. Other task include ones that require solving riddles to find a certain object to bring to a person and such. I've never really done puzzles, but hopefully it'll turn out ok.

I also plan to continue work on my other project, Eat World. I have some progress on that since my last update, including a large and quite hilarious looking enemy. Trying to learn how to code some simple boss fights.

Well, that's all for now. I hope to get something playable (and fun) out to everyone soon.

Then how about just reading the first post?

Aw man... this happens to me way more than it should...

Anyway, sorry about that, thought I read all of the first post, must of just skimmed and not realized it.

  • Hey, didn't wanna read the whole thread, but I could help out with some Flash elements if anyone needs / wants them.

  • Did it for Ludum Dare 14, first time in the contest and second completed Construct game.

I'm pretty happy with it. I managed to take the concept I came up with and do everything I intended to do in 2 days, the concept just wasn't that great. But, I guess thats not really the point. Learned some things and worked hard on a weekend for once, so I feel pretty good about it.

  • Heheh... simple but awesome.

  • Meh, you can't expect me to read the boring parts.
