  • Neat, but it is a bit heavy (8MB?) for such a simple concept. Also, at the start I experienced a frame drop, so it is hard to dodge.

Still, kind of easy once you get the pattern...

  • Hashtable Object would be the best to use for inventory system, at least that is what I believe. Alternatively you could just create 'inventory slot' sprites that would store anything thrown at them, but hashtable is more flexible - you can create a dynamic number of inventory slots for each existing key.

  • UK has 'highest teenage pregnancy rate in Europe'

See why I am not surprised?

  • Haven't you ever been horny at his age? Boys get the sex much drive sooner than girls.

  • You want to use Pairer Object for this. You pair the soldier and turret, etc., when one gets shot, the other doesn't get destroyed.

  • Well, that is GB for you, the parents are mostly conservatives and are all taboo-like... "Umm, let's wait until he's like 17 before we do the bees and stuff..." and then "You've WHAT?!"

Truth is, majority of teens learn of sex from friends, magazines and Internet, if they are uneducated, they try it without knowing the consequences.

Parents need to get off their cowardly taboo arses and educate their kids.

I've heard the schools there have an appalling sex education too.

  • System Actions

    Basically...

+On Action (something that you do or some condition where you want the game to move to next layout)

Next Layout (or Go To Layout "Level 2")

Then, in that layout, you can copy player sprite in desired location or just use "On Start of Layout" system condition to set the player sprite position properly (if you are using a global sprite).

Tip: if you are using objects in first layout in second too, you want to make them global, such as MouseKeyboard etc., so they work across all layouts.

  • Oh. Perhaps I need to check it out again, then.

  • Shame it doesn't work too well for objects with hotspot not in center... such as Text Object

  • Make sure the hotspots are matching! If not, you can use an image point? The box's hotspot is always in the middle.

The box object has an action called "Attach to Object", you could try that.

  • I believe that is easy enough to do. You can use any variable - Private or Global variable - to store the value, and a Text Object to display it.

Simple enough to do would be a Text Object with a Private Variable "Counter":

    +Always

    Set Text to Counter

    +On Action

    Add 1 to Text.Value('Counter')
