  • I've had that launch bug too. Just kill temp.exe and try running preview again. It happens every once in a while for me.

  • every time you save a file, save a hash of the file too (with crc32). Then when loading, make sure the hash equals the file.

  • nope.

  • It's a good method, just make sure you preview how the scaled down version will look as you paint.

  • I've noticed this also, but it's tough to pinpoint. I can't say exactly where/why it happens.

  • you can't copy events from one project to another, and you shouldn't try. It can cause problems.

  • Firstly, I highly recommend Dropbox for all your hosting needs.

The game is cool, but positional sounds don't account for the y position (unless i'm missing something because I don't have surround sound), so I was confused at times. Also, the nodes are way too big, and it's easy for someone to just go about scanning the playfield for them, which really defeats the purpose and difficulty of the game. Scanning the play field (ie, randomly moving around) shouldn't be a viable alternative. Other than my little criticism, it's pretty polished for a first game, and the idea is well excuted.

    Good job.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • multiple objects would probably be more suitable, performance wise, than having a large custom mask (imagining that his graphics aren't tiny, and not tiled). Then again, if your track is composed of square tiled sections, it might be better to do custom masks. It really depends on the size and design of your game.

  • what they are saying is that setting the color filer to white, is like turning off the color filter

To be clearer, they are always on, and you can't turn them off. The default color is white, which doesn't affect (tint) the source image.

  • That's one nice ghost shooter mod.

  • You really should just install the version of directX that comes with Construct. Having just those dll's may allow the program to start, but you may encounter problems down the road. Installing the DirectX 9 package won't overwrite DirectX10.

  • Ambient Occlusion is not a post-process effect, it's complex 3d light calculations, and is for 3d renderers only. It's never used in real time because it's very cpu intensive. There's no way to do this to a 2d picture.
