  • O.K. DeadEye, have a look.

Uh oh... you're starting to get a reputation, Deadeye.

  • I really like your art style. Very creepy.

Nice animation for the girl, too. I'll be looking forward to seeing more from you.

  • Heh. I turned all of the light on and thought "hey, what gives?".

    Right... lights OUT.

Will the board change shape with progressive levels? That could add some variety/challenge to the game.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • The guy working on this is an animator and not a programmer, so there is a pretty good chance that this is just a "what if" video and not a real game project.

Hopefully it is real, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

  • Nice improvements.

...those steel balls are only slightly aggravating to get past now.

  • 112 points so far...

I'm not very good at it.

Pretty fun, though. Have you thought about adding some music/sfx?

  • The font looks fine for me, it was easily readable. Maybe it uses a different font on your system, C.S.?

Probably. The letters seem to be spaced too closely together.

I feel like I'm missing something important that the cat before the barrier is trying to tell me...

  • I like the music especially, and the graphics have a kind of DOS-era charm to them.

I'm not sure why I sometimes die jumping down the pit (after the barrier disappears) and sometimes live...

    For some reason the text is difficult to read when you start the actual game. It looks the same whether I run it windowed or fullscreen;

  • Cool idea!

In case anyone is wondering what it is before they download it...

It's a platform/survival game of sorts. You have to keep climbing upwards without falling.

Anyway, it's a good first game. I take it the platforms are all randomly generated (haven't actually looked through the .cap yet)?

  • I like the new look! Particles didn't look bad but I think animated sprites fit the look of the movie better.

I'm not sure about having the beam length adjustable, though. I think it would be better if it was an instant shot instead (it was pretty much an instant-hit beam in the movies).

  • Bleahhhh. I hate reinstalling windows and all of my drivers.

At least it fixed the problem. I wish I knew what caused it in the first place so I could avoid it (if possible), but at least Construct is working properly again.

  • I normally run Windows XP from my primary hard drive so I tried booting Windows 2000 from my secondary drive and opening Construct (from the same folder that I've been using on XP). The image editor works just fine on 2000.

I've tried uninstalling all versions of Construct, reinstalling DirectX and even running a registry cleaner but nothing helps. Does anyone have any suggestions other than reinstalling XP?
