  • BRAND new doesn't mean much these days... especially if it was some cheap off-the-shelf DELL special from Walmart or something.

It's probably got a crappy onboard video adapter or something. Without knowing what hardware is in the machine it will be anyone's guess as to the problem. Also, 1024x320 is far from a huge texture/image really. I have used MUCH larger in Construct than that with no issues.

Unfortunately there is no easy answer to the problem, but I'd put money on that computer having a crappy video card.

Also, updating the drivers for the video could fix it... even new computers still use old-ass drivers. When I bought my video cards, the driver in the box was 3 months old. Always get the latest version from the manufacturer or reference manufacturer website.

    *EDIT*

Yes I totally forgot about that Alspal... I bet the video driver is stretching the image to 1024x1024.

  • You know SoldjahBoy, I don't think anyone ever really visits this part of the forum. I didn't even know about it until yesterday.

It's one of our hidden little gems

Also, your pixel art is amazing. Thanks for your contributions, they will make for some high quality library art for people. Why did you never use there? Or did you? Looks like you spent a fair bit of time making them. Kudos on sharing though!

  • Whoa that's crazy O.o

What computer is he running? Any idea on video hardware etc?

Could be just about anything but it's especially weird that it only seems to be affecting the ground tiles.

Just make sure on your friends computer that his DirectX is up to date... and that his video card drivers are also up to date. That's about the only suggestion I can give without more information.

I don't understand this. Could you explain this?

I could make ability to add plugins but I see no sense.

Lucid is the king of plugins... pretty sure he has made more plugins for Construct than everyone else combined.

"With your plugins combined, I am Captain Lucid! GOOOOOO LUCID!"

  • I took a long trip.

I'll look into it again soon =)

Yeah like, welcome back and stuff... it totally slipped my mind that you were gone since you still posted occasionally.

How was India? It was India wasn't it? lol I have such a bad memory these days.

  • An ini would probably be the easiest, since you can just call a line at each time segment. It would also be easiest to edit and change if you desired to do so.

Sounds like you may be doing something like a lyrics/karaoke system?

You could probably do this in a number of ways, but if it was me I'd probably be experimenting with an ini for sure.

  • Star date 90.210

Capitan Luke Perry... today we discovered a temporal warp in space. According to Leonard Nimoy, this may be caused by the largeness of my hair, or my ability for inane acting. I know the crew are ready to change the random seed in hopes of a new captain... I heard them saying something about Cheryl Cole and Jessica Alba... little do they know for their existence they are bound to this universe, this seed, this captain. Now, I have a date with Jason Preistley. Luke Perry out.

  • A logical approach.

After reading the first paragraph, I immediately thought "bone system with IK solver"... who would have thought eh?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I used to use Game Maker when I was younger, and IMO Construct is much better.

    I concur.

I am here for a reason... I have used just about every game making tool out there at one point or another. I find Construct to easily be one of the more powerful (if not the most now) and the most intuitive to use.

  • Yeah I will have to look more into this myself... I am guilty of all counts of making too many events... one for "yes" and one for "no".

I find using Else difficult... but this tutorial should help a fair bit.

    Thanks for the post!
