  • I can translate it into Australian if that's any help

  • ActionScript is fine for making menu's on websites... but I would hardly consider it a valid game making tool.... 99.9% of flash games I have ever played SUCK.

  • Some sort of "outer glow" effect like in Photoshop would be nice... especially if you could change the opacity, spread, and width at runtime... would make for some awesome laser bullet effects, or even thruster exhaust etc.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I don't see why it shouldn't go on the wiki, and quaziblob is a pro name.

Hell's yes. And, that's pr0~ by the way

  • I haven't even played with sound at all yet... I have Vista with a Creative X-Fi Xtreme sound card, so once this is all done I will test it out and see how it goes.

  • Deadeye, if we want to keep tutorials on the forums only, we really need a stickied thread for tutorials specifically. I know the "uploads" area is along those lines, but it's not really.

Tutorials should be commented properly in the events section, and come with a text file (with pictures if possible) which describes how to build the included CAP file. This way people who know nothing about Construct can follow a "written" example without having to know where menus are among other things in Construct.

Personally I think it would be good to have a tutorial section on both the boards and the wiki!

  • Thats weird it runs fine for me. maybe the plasma objects I made are doing something weird I dunno.

Screenshots, just because its quite pretty:

Combining with the quaziblob effect: http://www.quotecats.com/what/fireblob.cap

(heh that effect's quickly becoming a cliche)

I can has EXE file plox?

  • I guess the only way around this at the moment would be to create a custom platform engine for a "physics" based character, using events.

  • Lol Jes... if you foe someone it blocks their posts by default

I think QuaziBlob is an awesome name! Cheers for sharing it as well... I think this will help a lot of people with cool effects. I was basically waiting on someone to figure out how to do this (well, I was trying myself as well don't get me wrong here) so I could make some water/lava/slime/etc.

It would be good (providing Quazi doesn't mind) if we put all of these "QuaziBlob" examples into a RAR file, and put them up on the demo's page.

Well done mate, bloody great effect!

  • NICE!

Kinda reminds me of the "Earthworm Jim" style of graphics in a way. Can't wait to get a hold of a playable demo of this! Keep it up, oh and welcome to the forums mate.

  • Lol, I find making event based "code" hard enough at times... trying to make something by typing stuff would be impossible, for me at least. I did a little Visual Basic database stuff, and some real simple games... oh, and a visual "comic book" with an interface... but there is no way in hell I would be able to make collision detection, or interface with DirectX etc etc etc.

    ~Sol

  • Haha thanks guys... it was pretty simple really... creative use of shaders, nothing more. I will get around to animating the "firey" bit of the explosion though at some point and see if it looks better.
