I drew these while in chat.

Which one do you like better and why?

    Participation is voluntary... maybe.

  • Looks nice and clean, love the smooth animations.

I'm taking a wild guess that this is a game based on the Cube movie?

If so, that would be cool... but we all know how to solve the game if you watch the movie! xD

  • I made loads of icons ages ago, but they never got used for reasons of, something... I forgetted.

I went to look for them at this point in the post, but I can't even find them now. 9Tb of crap, you tend to forget where things are when you don't maintain it often enough.

  • Awesome game with a great atmosphere! Ran just fine on my laptop.

    Also...

    > WONDERFUL!! I found a cap =))) Now I can stop wallowing in my noobishness on everything covered here! Thank you so much. I needed this badly.

Perhaps there should be a real DL section for tutorials and example files? It can get somewhat annoying having to DL from links found in a forum. (For example, anyone ever heard of SFGHQ? I learned MMF solely from the tuts section there.)

    Blame me for that, sorry...

I put my hand up to make a download database for stuff like this ages ago, but I kind of ended up not having the time... mainly due to the job I had (which was rather flexible) ending up going down the drain.

Also, the site popularity got pretty out of control pretty fast I there was no way one man could keep up with it.

Maybe we can try to put something together if enough people are willing to help, though we have to decide if it's even worth it since most people are so helpful here any problems are usually fixed/helped with.

  • I've been working on a game on and off for over 18 months now... maybe closer to 2 years.

    I am nowhere near done.

It looks like the project may be morphing into something else...

Things happen... real life mainly. I recommend working on smaller modular projects to learn the basics of what you want to achieve. As lucid said, start with a simple swordplay game, then later on use the same mechanics and even the same events to make it into a single level game.

As it turns out, the last 3-5 small "test" projects I have worked on are (for the most part) getting all thrown into a virtual blender and smooshed into a jello mould, to become something I have never been more scared of.

I guess if you start small it will/may end up big... if you start big it will almost always die before it's even medium sized.

  • Basically port forwarding on either given IP ranges, or open completely will bypass any port blocks. Firewall may need to be adjusted as well...

Also route table may need to be adjusted depending on how the trafficking is set up.

If you go with a VPN for testing purposes (selected audience of testers for example) then you may need to manually set metric intervals in order to get the connection working properly.

There are numerous ways to make it work.

  • The best 3d rendering software i would say is daz3d , Its freeware and you get all the base characters to download for free.It uses mocap bvh files in which you can animate and then render the animations to separate png files.

Cant' model in Daz... well not easily anyway, but it's fun to play with and get an idea how 3D works.

I prefer Zbrush myself since it lends itself more to the sketch artist in the way it models. Having said that, the program certainly has its limitations and you can really only go so far with it if you plan on any post production stuff like animation. You can however export your creation in Zbrush to something like Maya or 3DSMax to rig and animate it.
