  • the gun with the large ammunition rounds looks like it would pack quite a kick powering the large shells so unless she has something to deal with the recoil, she should probably use both hands to handle the gun

    Realism, it's not always fun

I was thinking she could use two at once... big-ass-gun's akimbo.

That's a tiny gun anyway xD

  • Never tried custom movement mate... :/

Maybe later tonight in chat we can try to work it out... I can summon davo using the konami code, or my phone. I bet he knows how it works.

  • There are some plasma creations in the uploads and user creations sections. David was responsible for one of the larger/detailed ones.

I can't remember what it was called though, sorry but you can try searching through david's topics. It was some time ago (a year or more?) so not sure how you will go finding it.

  • By shortcuts I assume you mean the tool menu?

If so, then no. You can only get the features that are there. You can move them around and add/remove ones you do/don't want... but you can't make your own.

    Also, welcome to the boards.

  • AFAIK the only way to do it is to delete one of the hinged objects.

    Yes this.

Delete one of the hinged objects, then recreate it again in the same x.y location and angle, then re-hinge it.

This is the method I used in Tonks for recreating the tank treads should they "fall off" the tank. That was a bug at the time which is now fixed, but it was the only way to make it work at the time.

I stored the objects X, Y, and angle values in private variables, so as the object was deleted it was recreated instantly. You never knew it was gone.

  • So far it's about 50/50 :/

Notably, she is skinny on purpose. It will tie in with other characters and graphical style. Everything will be elongated and ultra thin... kind of going for a "stylized" look to things. Since I was struggling to come up with a unique "theme" I decided to go for a more unique art direction.

Also, the detail will be scalable. I want something that looks good when sized down, but also want something that still looks detailed in a HD view. I plan on using layer zoom a lot which may be focused right on the character close-up, but will need to pan back to allow more viewport area.

Cheers for the crit so far. I guess I'm just trying to figure out if a more "cartoony" look is better than a "comic book" look.

  • Give number one a chin.

    Yeah more details like that.

Less details like the gun in number two.

Im guessing your gonna do frames, cause a bones system just wont work with a side perspective.

    Frames, with bones... both actually

There will be side frame, 3/4 frame, front frame, and maybe a back frame...

    Each frame will have bones.

But yes, style 1 will be more detailed if that's the way it ends up heading. Cheers for the input

Think local area netowrk (LAN)... but over the internet.

You can browse my personal shares which include but is not limited ot:

  • Been meaning to make a tutorial for certain people who are in my Leaf list.

There are a few things you need to do in order to get the VPN adapter to function correctly.

These instructions are for Windows 7 users. Vista and XP may differ.

    1. Order the network adapter to be primary after installing the VPN software.

    • Open your Network and Sharing Centre
    • Click on Change Adapter Settings
    • Press ALT
    • You will see a menu now that you didn't see before....
    • Go to Advanced, then Advanced Settings
    • Order the VPN network adapter (Leaf, Hamachi, etc) to the top

    2. In Windows 7, ordering the network adapter doesn't totally fix the order in which windows chooses to use the adapter. It's annoying. To fix this open a command prompt (START > little typing box > cmd (enter)

    • Type "route print"
    • Check the order of network adapter in first category. Should be at top if you followed step 1 correctly)
    • Notice that the metric interval in category 2 for each netowrk device. Make note of the number for the VPN network IP address (usually 5.0.0.0). If it is not the lowest number, go to step 3. If it is the lowest number then you are done.

    3. Open your TCP/IP v4 settings (where you specify IP address and DNS settings) and click ADVANCED.

    • Down the bottom of the page you will see a thing called Metric Interval.
    • Untick AUTOMATIC
    • Put in the number "1"
    • On some computers if you are using Hamachi this will stop your network from working at all, this is why I use Leaf instead even though it's not as good as Hamachi.
    • now do a "route print"
    • The metric interval should be 1st in the list.

    Everything should now work properly.

If it doesn't or you do not get the expected results, let me know

  • True true.

I was going for more of an overall opinion, based on things like resize ability, and general likeableness.

If I cleaned up Style1 more, it would just look nicer.

I guess what I am asking for is which one you think would make a better sprite and atmosphere for a chain of characters.
