• Nice entry! I really like the way the levels rotate around seamlessly

  • I've been itching to participate in the Ludum Dare for a while now, and finally I was able to submit - ESCAPE BASE 10.

This definitely reminded me that graphics and SFX/Music aren't my strong points, but it was fun to make a complete game in less than 20 hours.

    Game description:

The facility is collapsing! Escape base 10 blowing your way through locked doors and narrowly missing the 10 second lock-down in each room!

    WASD/Arrows - Move

    Mouse - Aim

    Left click - Shoot

Right click/F key - Throw gun

    R key - Restart

Play the game and download the source files from here: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-27/?action=preview&uid=5475

  • Very nice job! I really like your graphics style too.

  • Here's a cap I made a while back of something similar to what you're trying to do, should work in your case too: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4714446/ArrayPowerups.cap

    Good luck!

  • Well, I've always heard that Fullscreen is buggy. Your best bet might be to stay windowed and see if that avoids the issue

  • You'll need to break the gif animation into separate sprite/frames, and then import them as "frames" into the animations of the object. This is due to Construct Classic using its own method of animating.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • This seems to be a different game/issue so I'm not sure of the problem you're having. If it's still the issue of the skeleton z order then I highly recommend doing a work-around/testing re-ordering your events and using families/for each object loops to find a solution, then simplify from there.

  • arcgen Yeah, I love DaMainMan's graphics and hope so! NES, SNES/Genesis were awesome platforms for games.

BACLog We're glad you came to see our game, thanks for the great feedback!

landman Ah thanks for the kind words, again I'd attribute it to DaMainMan and his love for classic NES games

NotionGames thanks for checking out our game! We look forward to seeing what you're working on next as well then

  • Maybe a solution should be that you can reply to PM's with the starting level rep (so lost rep removes that privilege), but you can only start a pm to someone new with 500 rep.

I think the point of the system is that a spambot would need to make many posts (more likely to get caught) before they can then spam everyone's PM's (it's easier to delete one thread than a tonne of PM's)

ut are they really going to take the time to comment or add a like on peoples games?

    Yes, they definitely do sadly.

  • Can you post the cap file of what you've got so far? Even the pre-made animations of pulling out a gun and putting it back would be a good start.

  • Not sure what you mean in terms of the array there. Can you explain more of the game mechanics you're trying to achieve and I might be able to think of another way to do it?
