Use the 'pause animation' action to hold it in place.

Well there's no event to set it to stopped if it's not walking, so it's always going to loop .
Copy the walking event, invert the condition, and set it to a stopped animation.
If you have any details I'd like to take a look into it; like, what you were doing etc. Cheers.

That makes sense; being able to see an application top down would indeed be useful.
