  • Adrix89 is right, a magnify shader can do explosion "shockwaves" like that. Black doesn't zoom at all and while zooms a lot, so I guess you'd just draw a greyscale shockwave and resize it really big, while fading it out with opacity.

It's done by shader parameters so it's not quite so easy as having a sprite, and at the moment it's also in texture coordinates which makes it a little fiddly, but it works. I'll see if I can make it a bit easier to use.

I just tested this trick, it worked! However to achieve the full effect you'd need to change the object's size on the fly using an animated sprite.

  • "Particle Object" like the one in MMF?

A similar one would do it, but with an effects dropdown menu so it'd add blurring, HDR or anything else on each particle if you so wanted...

  • Ok so lets talk about effects... http://youtube.com/watch?v=DkCj1YD8tUc

    -Fog

    -Blur

    -Shockwaves (???)

If a suitable refract shader is used, we could have blurred shockwave effects that'd look great on explosions and general fighting scenes (great example of an explosion refract shader here)

Fog can already be achieved with an animated sprite and using a Blurmask on it.

  • Can't wait to pump some scratched floortiles with this one really, it'll boost any game's normal solid ground up a notch

  • Just a quick offtopic, do you mind resizing your signature image a bit smaller? It looks a bit like every page is a list of banners, heh...

    Done (sorry )

  • I'd love to see this in the next version - would really put the atmosphere in me and my team's zombie game to use on floortiles and such when the flashlight is on

  • Just a quick note on this uploading site:

I cannot access your files in any way and even if I could, I wouldn't. I won't get your download locations, only your IP and timestamp on the log in case someone puts pirated software on it.

So don't worry, it's relatively fast, easy and safe way to host your projects in!

  • Keep up the good work Mk! As I have a plan for something awesome...

    ...MP zombie survival, anyone?

  • Also, what I meant with "3D Mesh" was just the 3D Box object with other shapes too in a dropdown menu, not a model or anything. Just a simple cylinder would help to make lots of new buildings and whatever using them.

  • You're right <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" />

But at least the ability to scale 3D Boxes more by adding support for zero decimals like 0.1 and 0.25 would be nice, seeing as my game's sprites are made small to offer a bigger world to the player.

Also thanks for all info on the objects <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" />

  • If I remember correctly, you can use the ink effect "erase" to perform the same function as taking pieces out of a landscape. Your sprite is the erase mask, so you can define it with pixel precision.

But does it affect the collision of the landscape? That is what I need.

  • Some things I'd LOVE to see in Construct.

Allow zero decimals (eg. 0,50 and 0,25) with 3D Box Depth a 3D Sphere or 3D Cylinder objects to accompany 3D Box (and allow creation of complex geometry)
