  • * update for 8:15 am Weds 22 Feb

    Tom

    No issues this morning.

  • * moved as this is obviously a Website Issue rather than a bug in C2.

I have already let Tom know about this , which for me, started to occur on Sunday, so he is aware and monitoring the situation.

    I agree - incredibly frustrating.

  • is it possible to use the personal license bought from steam without opening it via steam? I mean, bought the personal version from steam and downloads the C2 from scirra site?

    No.

The license systems are maintained independantly.

If you bought a license from the Scirra store then the license only applies to the non-steam version of C2.

The same is true for those licenses bought via the steam system, i.e. the license is only valid for the steam version of C2.

Why have you re-posted this here after what I told you previously here ?: https://www.scirra.com/forum/scirra-arcade-black-screen_p1101473?#p1101473

The Arcade is a website issue and Tom is looking for urls and examples which break the Arcade. Posting in this section is pointless.

  • *moved to Website Issues as anything to do with Arcade is a Website Issue and is handled by (mainly) Tom

It would help considerably if you provided more information for Tom to investigate. A 'black screen' doesn't really help determine a problem.

You could also try sending the exported arcade zip to along with information about your project such as any browser errors in console, non-standard plugins used, etc.

    Cheers

Why did you delete this post then re-add it exactly as before?

If you are trying to bump your post up again then just add a reply with 'bump' in it.

It is perfectly acceptable to bump your own thread after 24 hours if no answer has been forthcoming, or your post has dropped off the first page.

  • Sorry but cant find any possible ways to hook up the capx file... Can you do the same making simple one please?

You just need to use one of the many free hosting sites. Just export as a single file, upload to the site, get the 'public' url and post it here for everyone to access. It really is the best way to get effective help.

  • I'm finding it difficult to understand the relevance of this 'tit-for-tat' debate over the history of game engines to the OP.

Enough spam posts from BlazeX I think.

    Banned and threads locked.

  • where do you put the .addon file

This is covered in the How To Install Addons pinned post.

Just drag and drop the file onto your Layout and follow the prompts.

Due to an NDA with Scirra, no WIIU discussions can take place on this forum.

Regarding your other questions - from what I can see, every one has been answered many times previously either via the manual or the forum.

Please try to use search before posting.

Please don't multipost the same question in different sections.

You already posted this question here: https://www.scirra.com/forum/how-can-i-read-certain-lines-of-text-from-the-c2-text-box_t187699 posted 4 hours ago.

You are allowed to bump your own post after a time if no answer has been forthcoming.

Just remember that those who generally help come from many different time zones, so getting a response can take a while sometimes.

    locking as duplicate.

  • Is there a switch to enable it thank you!

It is a 'Property' of the Layer.

Click on the Layout required, switch to the Layers and select the Layer. In the 'Properties' window on the far left is an option called 'Use render cells'.

Make sure to have read Ashley's bog so you understand when and how to use this feature: https://www.scirra.com/blog/ashley/14/how-render-cells-work

  • Maybe attaching a simple .capx might help others to see what you have done and maybe see what needs to be done.

It's usually the quickest way to get a successful resolution to your problem.

  • Please keep posts civil.

Never use the term 'fail' on a user, especially one requesting help. Not pleasant or polite.
