  • I would like to see the ability to use bitmaps for the numbers in the score like in MMF.

  • Thank you very much everybody. All of your info was very helpful, so I should be able to make something out of it! Time to try it out...

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • I'm having some difficulty coming up with a way to create an extra life every 20,000 points.

I'm a little weak in the math department, but I shouldn't have much trouble figuring out how to turn a good algorithm into an expression if somebody would be kind enough to offer one.

Anyway, if anybody knows of a great way to accomplish this, I would greatly appreciate any assistance. Thank you!

  • I know there is a "Fade" transition on the transitions list, but I don't see a "Fade to Black". Am I overlooking something? I'm currently converting a program from MMF to Construct, and would like to have a similar fade effect in my converted game.

  • Thank you! I didn't realize that feature was added.

  • How did you customize the icon for the game?

  • Yeah, the only advantage of Clickteam's counter object is that it uses sprite frames for custom number images. That is one feature I would love to see in Construct, because my current fan game project that is being converted from MMF 2 requires this. But yes, a text blitter object would solve this problem.

  • It's not really actively planned, it would just be a nice thing to have after 1.0.

Bummer! I thought for sure it would be included before reaching 1.0. Greatly looking forward to joypad support, because the MMF project that I'm now porting over to Construct has joypad support. Oh well, can't have it all!

  • I'm using .PNG files.

  • Thanks for the prompt response, Ashley! Looking forward to seeing this problem resolved.

  • Verified: Layouts are reordered to their original sequence after saving and then loading in both Vista and XP. This makes it impossible to switch the order of your "levels" during editing.

After this problem is fixed, I think it would be great if the order of the event sheets was also rearranged automatically with the order of the layouts to save users confusion during the overall editing process.

  • While importing individual frames from an animation into the picture editor, I noticed that alpha transparency is correctly imported with each image. However, when I import the same individual images as an animation in the animation editor, I get a solid grey background instead of transparency.

Is there something else I have to do in the import options, or is this a bug? It would save me a ton of time if I could import entire animations at once, instead of having to import a frame at a time in the picture editor.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • Device name: NVIDIA GeForce 7100 GS

    Pixel shader: 3

    Estimated VRAM: 1016 MB

    Motion blur: Yes

  • Wow, this is the first update of Construct that I've been able to work on a project for a long time without a crash! This is shaping up to be the best program in its league. As soon as joypad support is incorporated and behaviours support multiple players, Construct may turn out to be my game development tool of choice. Keep up the excellent work, Ashley!
