  • Hi, my name is Zouhair, I offer my services as 2D freelance game artist. I'm looking for serious clients who are successful and fun to work with.

I charge a reasonable amount for my services, just provide me with a detailed list of the assets that you need, and I'll get back to you with a quote.

    Contact: gameplaypassion[at]gmail.com

I can do character animation, backgrounds, tilesets, GUI. I have a cartoonish vector style. I can also do flat or minimalistic designs.

Here's what my clients say about my work

[quote:2mnjpsuw]"It was a pleasure working with Zouhair. Excellent work. Very fast. Will hire again." Emilio Di Fonte

[quote:2mnjpsuw]"Zouhair is an amazing graphic artist. He was always on the same page with our vision for the project. Most importantly his deliveries were extremely fast, on time, and the quality of his work was superb. We look forward to continuing to use his work on future projects." Aaron Ellis -

Let's take your game to the next level!!

I'll work with you on these terms:

    • I do paid work only.
    • If you want a quote, you'll have to provide a detailed list of the assets that you need with reference games or images that portray the style that you are looking for.
    • You are a successful game developer who makes substantial money through game development or is at least serious about the job.
    • Your have a clear idea of your budget.
    • You are quick to respond to emails (in less than 24 hours)
    • You agree to provide any additional information I ask on the job.
    • You agree with me on a definite starting date and deadline.
    • You agree to pay 50% as advance payment before the work begins (via paypal).
    • I charge a minimum of 50 USD for any job that I do.
    • You'll get exclusive rights on the art, I retain the right to display the art in my portfolio and in forums.
    • You are not entitled to my work files. I will only provide PNG files and other deliverable files that will be used directly in your game. If you want my work files, I will charge you for them.

I never work on these terms, please don't waste my time and yours:

    • Revenue share.
    • Work for free.
    • Provide free samples.
    • Work for promises, exposure or opportunities.
    • Expect me to charge for my time the same price that I charge for my products on the asset stores. What I sell in the stores can be bought and used by many developers, it is not exclusive, and it can generate revenue for the years to come. That's why it is so cheap. When I work with you as a freelance artist, I dedicate my time to you and your project, I create art that is tailored to your game, and your game only.
  • ... oh yeah, including me!!

  • You could add some stuff to the game like pedestrians and release it in the store as a template. I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in it.

  • Here is the best book about Construct 2, written by some people who truly understand the engine inside and out, and it is completely free! Click Here!

  • Very impressive!!

Maybe you can recreate GTA 2 with modern controls and better mechanics, good luck, that looks promising!

  • You can pick objects based on their IID instead of their UID. However, a simpler solution would be to put both ObjA and ObjB in a container.

Please post a screenshot of your problem or a capx next time.

  • LOL hilarious sounds!!

For your game design, maybe you can tell us what you have in mind first, so that people can criticize it and show you the downside/upside of your ideas.

I like the transition from black/white to white/black. Maybe your game can have two worlds and you need to transition between them to solve puzzles (games that do this: Giana Sisters, Legacy of Kain).

If you focus on puzzles, then I would advise not to include a combat mechanic. Do it like Fez, this way you can focus more on the level and puzzle design.

    Good luck!

  • I've seen a lot of 2d platformers on steam, kong, and here on the arcade, I've made a few myself, I can tell you with my modest experience that your game has a lot of potential due to its mechanical design and its "fez/limbo-like" atmosphere.

Your hand-drawn sprites remind me of the art-style of Braid.

You seem to have been inspired by many indie platformer giants, that's awesome.

The main mechanic is great. Maybe you could extend this concept further, for example, the player character could dream about and spawn more stuff: traps for enemies, giant snow balls that will roll and crush anything on its path, another NPC who will help you with something (summon a knight to fight for you, an archer to hit a distant target, ... etc).

You could collect "dreams" and spawn them later when you need them, for example you could collect a trampoline and later place it to reach a distant platform, you could collect a turret to defend an area, adding a tower defense element to your game like in Half Life 2 Episode One.

Don't let the feature creep get to you though, what you have is already enough to make a solid game. Good luck!

  • Very impressive, you should add more mechanics and gamepad support and publish it on steam, this is a high quality game.

  • Yeah probably a problem with their servers. Could you post a link to your game, I'd love to check it out !

  • Most of the editor features are not available at runtime. So no, there is no feature out of the box to do that AFAIK.

  • Please post a screenshot of your event sheet or a capx.

Where are your game uploaded? Is it on your local host? Scirra arcade? NWjs? Android? The host may restrict outgoing links, so it is useful if you tell us more details about it.

  • I uploaded a few games to Kongregate and never had this problem before.

Are the files in your zip inside a folder named "preview" ? They shouldn't. All files must be at the root of the zip.

It seems to me that there is something wrong with the zip. Try using Winrar for maximum compatibility, then zip all the files except index.html to gamedata.zip. Make sure the files are at the root of the zip.

If you've done all this already then I think there is no problem on your end. Maybe their servers are currently under maintenance.
