  • Hello,

I have a vertical scroller game. My player's Y position remains static in the center of the screen while the background and the background elements scroll vertically up and down giving an impression that the player is moving.

    Game Layout : 1920 * 3240 (i.e. 3 backgrounds of 1920 * 1080 which scrolls in a loop)

The background elements are pinned to the backgrounds making them move along.

I am trying to find the Y position of the background element relative to the ViewportTop on every tick as the position keeps changing on up and down arrows key press. But I could not wrap my head around it. Can someone please share how can this be achieved?

  • There's nothing iOS-specific about savegames, it's running identical code on all platforms.

I'm afraid it's impossible to help without more detailed information - see the bug report guidelines as we need all that information to be able to investigate.

This seems to be working in incognito mode. I read that save action does not save on the cache. Wondering what could be causing this.

I will definitely check the guidelines and add details. However, I also tested the Savegames example (on iOS) provided under Browse examples (by changing the triggers from key press to touch) and even that is not loading the saved game. Infact sometimes it does not even save the game.

  • Ashley I have been lately observing inconsistent behaviour of load and save system actions on iOS (Chrome browser). These actions are working fine on laptops and android devices.

I have created checkpoints on my game and have to launch the game from the last checkpoint achieved if the player loses a life. Sometimes the actual state of the game is saved and loaded whereas sometimes it does not account for a few objects. Sometimes it just starts the game from the very first position. This was working fine a couple of months back on all devices.

  • Hello,

I have been testing my game in multiple android as well as iOS devices. A common observation is that, the layout is inconsistent. For example in Samsung A52 the layout shifts to the left and a grey patch is observed on the right (The entire layout is visible, just not in the center) whereas on other android device it is coming out perfectly. Trying to wrap my head around this to find no solution. Any guidance would be appreciated.

  • Is there a way we can hook the tile movement and make the character move along the path found by pathfinder?

While the character navigates from A to B there are several turns it might have to make to avoid the obstacles. In doing so it actually cuts through some of the obstacles corners. Please note I have ticked off the diagonals.
