  • including a game-performance check seems not a bad idea, deciding canvas/webgl, but who wants to bother for fast simple gameplay.. is it actually possible to swith renderer in runtime ?

    maybe problems with webgl will surface more, with other engines using it more, and hopefully improve the situation, but i read sqiddster , there seems not much awareness about it being a big problem on other devsites?

    "funny" thing about the jerkiness, i have two screens, refreshrate was 75hz on one of them, not sure why...

    has bad jerking, move to the other screen 60hz, butter smooth.. put it on the checklist

  • rexrainbow wow thats pretty cool, 1st demo works very good on chrome android, would also love to use midi, but how is the support for them in browsers, and how does it translate the original sound, it only supports basic midi devices available on client side, just not sure how it works really...

    to put in perspective, its actually thru google decision that both unity and unreal stepped up there game and start working on webgl version of there engine, both have working versions, and are propably working hard on it, so in other words because of this construct has now serious competition in browsergames area, and performance will be easyer to compare, on the other hand it also means that webgl has become very essential to the browsers, that will further improve on it, maybe graphic driverissues will become more vissible and hopefully fixed.

    artificial intelligence and humanoids becoming cyborg is pretty archetype, but also very likely

  • briggybros ,yeah i have that problem sometimes, and i think its mostly a lack of planning and a clear picture of what you want to achieve, this results in doing all kind of different things but after a while you feel like you're not getting anywhere..

    some things that can help:

    starting the day, with writing down what you exactly want to happen to visualise and remain focused,

    having a gamedocument with features and things you need to be done

    a document where you write down what you worked on for a reminder, next day...

    try to limit your time spend on forums

    sometimes planning wil work and sometimes fails, dont be too hard on yourself and try better next day

  • well pretty obvious why they dont run as good if you look at the browser features of the consoles, no webgl ... question is, can it be enabled on these devices? and if so what are they waiting for? xboxone does show a better performance then all others, even without webgl

  • I loved interstellar, great mood, the main score is amazing, i cant get enough off it, the special effects where realistic and not overly done, maybe the robotboxes where less realistic in some parts, but i kinda liked them too:) and i thought some emotional scenes where very good, like his reaction on the movies from his kids on earth, all these moments, he just lost in one hour on that planet, strong acting from.. Matthew McConaughey (looked that up

    some concepts of the movies i was aware off, like the artificial gravity thru spinning, (actually saw something like that in Kerbel space game)

    , very tense scene, when they need to reattach on the damaged ship while spinning. for me, overall great movie!

    Little movietip on a sidenote, if you love sci-fi, starwars, aliens, ... and concept art, you should check out Jodorowski's dune a documentary about the greatest film never made, also great music, and overall a great story/documentary.
