  • zendorf, fast is relative, but i do think they are covering there base pretty well, many exports, graphic pipeline, 2dworkflow, the logic step would be to make the coding more easy, on the other hand maybe its more interesting for them to get extra funds from pluginmakers on top of selling there main engine, if they make there own, then these plugings become mostly obsolete.. but for now im mostly interested in unity for providing assets in the future,

  • its just to test framerates, if it bogs down on a cameramove with a small map, then the hardware is just not up to it, if it works better without webgl the gpu is just weak, also collisionchecking.... does it goes faster if you dont do collisiontests? you might try asking ashley to do a check..

  • hm yes but in any case it seems gpu is the problem, have you put scaling quality settings to low? putting static objects, in different frames also help to reduce drawcalls, not sure if that aplies to canvas2d

    try a smaller map and adding things, and test often, try a simple character with cameramove,...

    post a testlink to test speed

  • on the debugscreen it says your running in canvas 2d mode, that is probably the biggest issue

  • unity is moving fast and there step to ease 2d creation is smart, i would not be suprised if there next step is making there own eventsystem, and they have a webgl version in beta i believe, so no more plugins, pretty crazy stuff

    promo's by scirra , its next to the line "infrequent but decent"

    if your interested, an easy way to do the function

    on function "toggleGroup"

    repeat function.paramCount times > system: set group function.Param(loopindex) Toggle Active

    this way it will use every parameter (the groups in this case) and toggle them

    i think groups could improve by using toggle "current" group,

    if you copy it, change the group name and your done

    and it could also function as a run group once

    i like to use them for a processes that i want to run for a period of time

    i then start check for events that autoclose the process/group

    an added bonus, is that you can easy see how "heavy" the process is in debug

    i also made a custom function to toggle multiple groups,

    ex: if file loaded, function toggle ('fileload","maineventloop") .. to chain groups

    im working on some new material that i hope to get online soon, you can also do a request in the store topic, maybe in the future you find more assets you can use..
