  • An online high score table would be done via HTTP, which is already implemented, unless you wanted the scores stored on a remote server.

    One option people always seem to overlook is python.. it already has full socket capabilities with much better control and modularity than objects could offer.

    </wishes people would use python>

    i have yet to figure out how to integrate python code with construct events. i've tried using sockets in python and googled for examples and the such but is till couldn't get anything to work =/ ...

  • i'd be in favour of a resource pack, i often think of ideas for interesting things but i never get around to implementing them because i'm missing other components that make up entire games lol

    dhondon: awesome website, i've only listened to one of them (human>indoor crowd) but just from listening to it, i imagine in my head how much livelier a game would be!

    is there a way to incorporate all this into construct? like an image button somewhere neat the window modifiers where a box will pop up or scroll down or do something in some fancy manner and basically has the same fields that can be entered in the sourceforge bug posting page except it's built right into construct and we can just use construct without having to open the browser to post a bug

    edit:

    i quickly realized that that is good only for bugs that don't crash construct, how about a crash report that pops up when construct crashes and does pretty much the same thing as above because i find that if i leave something off, i may never get around to it so doing this would prompt me to report the event asap!

  • Because of the prefix "sci" I always pronounced it "sigh - rah", though through proper English grammar I believe that any vowel followed by a double letter changes it's pronunciation... in which case it should be "sih - rah"??

    i think SoldjahBoy's got the right idea here

    think science and scimitar, one has a vowel following "sci" but the other has a consonant following "sci" and it changes its pronunciation significantly from "sigh" to "sih", respectively. i, myself, pronounce the "sci" in scirra the same way i would pronounce the "sci" in scimitar, "sih".

  • Well in my head it's "Sirra", but I guess "Skirra" is fair enough if you want to pronounce it like that It doesn't matter, nobody talks about us in 'real life', heh.

    pretty much the same for me, i think of it as being pronounced "Sih'ra" <- check out the fancy spelling!

  • thanks for this, it was a good break! =)

  • awww i'm on a computer without pixel shader 2.0 right now so i can't run this =(

  • Happy Birthday SoldjahBoy!

  • i personally think pixel shaders and 2 dimensional graphics can work really well together and won't even require heavy amounts of work to achieve desired effects but it would be nice to have 3d support just as well. i don't know where you should start but if you want you can take a look at the repository where all the code for construct is held: http://construct.cvs.sourceforge.net/construct/ and possibly form an idea of how you should go about it. =)
