    So lately I've been checking up on ways to get ours apps into China, huge mobile market, would be nice if we could get a slice of that pie. And I came across appsborg, you can check it out at the link below. Problem is, after checking out their website I get this "too good to be true" vibe, not sure why.

    So I was wondering did anyone around here actually use that service? What was your experience, what are the pros and cons? Is it hard to use with C2 games? Etc.?

  • Yeah, I realize there are a lot of em, but I personally was hoping for at least this one.

    Anyway, thanks for the sdk link, I'll try to get in touch with them and see if I can convince them to make their own plugin.... I doubt anyone will listen to me, but hey, it's worth a shot.

    Hey Ashley what are the chances of seeing Appflood integration into C2 in the near future? I've checked out their service, read some reviews, asked some people, etc. and it seems quite nice.

    Problem is without knowing to actually code or without you guys making a plugin or something for it, I don't think most of us around here have a chace of using it. I've even tried to see if I can't make it work myself but it seems you have to "Open the Manifest.xml of your project and insert the following permissions" and I don't see any manifest.xml in intelxdk so I got stuck at that part.

    So how about it Ash, pretty please with sugar on top give it to us?

    Sorry but I can't post a capx, the game is 99% done and, I don't mean to offend anyone, but at this point if I posted it someone could take it and upload it to google play as his own in about 5 minutes. So.... sorry.

    So I'm using admob plugin(the official one) and I have a little problem. On the menu layout(the one the game opens when it starts) I have event on start of layout>preload banned ad, then in the event sheet of each level I have on start of layout>show banner ad at position..etc.

    Now when the player opens the game and starts the first level the ad appears, but then if he dies or quits the level(he gets sent back to menu) and then starts the level again the banner ad doesn't appear anymore.

    What am I missing, isn't it supposed to show up every time?

    My game is almost done, but this last bit is quite infuriating, I've been searching for a while now and I can't seem to find enough info, or any tutorials on how to do this.

    Can anyone help me make a facebook leaderboard that shows the top 10 scores of everyone who has ever played the game?

    So I have a 2 part question. First of lets say I have an event like this

    every tick if object a is overlapping object b then destroy object b

    do I need collisions to be enabled on those 2 objects for that to work?

    Second part lets say I set an object to have collisions disabled by default, then I have an event

    if object c is on screen then set collisions enabled for object c

    will that permanently enable collisions for the object once it comes into view, or will collisions be set back to disabled after the object leaves the screen?

  • Maybe it did Aphrodite , but that is a beta version, and I don't use betas. It's bad enough that I had all these problems with a release labeled as stable because of a bug that was missed, the last thing I need is to have a beta version ruin things even more.

  • Yes Aphrodite that is exactly what I was describing. And thanks for the bug report mate, I was gonna do it myself after reading what Ashley just said, but I noticed you beat me to it.

    Yeah, I learned it the hard way, guess I should consider a better system for keeping my work safe.... I'll check out some of those things that Refeuh suggested.

  • Ok, I've calmed down a bit, I've been told I might have a problem with impulse control, who knows.

    So yeah, maybe it's not his fault, sorry Ashley, but glerikud, Drew you guys are getting all it wrong.

    It's not that I didn't have a clue what I was doing. I knew exactly what I was doing, and understood perfectly what was supposed to happen, this is a bug.

    When you open up an object that has multiple animation frames and you press shift+crop it's supposed to remove the transparent pixels on all the animation frames. And it did, but only on the layouts that where active at the time! On every other layout that had those objects that wasn't opened it bugged out, and instead of croping them it resized them to some very blurry, ugly, 128x128 or 64x64 sizes. What's even more puzzeling is that none of those bloody sprites where 128 or 64 to begin with.

    So what I have to do now is jot down the correct sizes of every frame of every object from the layouts where the croping worked, and go to all of the other layouts and manually change each object(we're talking about hundreds of instances) to the correct size that the crop should have made them!....

    So was I wrong to blame Ashley, maybe(depends on wether or not he knew about this bug imo, cause he could have given me a heads up), and if so I apologize, but considering how much extra work I have to do now, and how much time and effort I put into it in the first place getting everything set up just perfect, I think my fustration should be understandable...

    And yeah, I get the point about saving often and in multiple places, but I usually think of that in terms of not losing my work if the power goes down, or if I am actually about to do something new that I don't fully understand; I however am not used to thinking about bugs in a version that is clearly labeled on the site as stable.

    But heck, maybe I'm wrong about that too, I don't even know anymore...
