  • A bunch of new tracks have been added. The YouTube playlist is probably the easiest way to see them all.

These releases should help to see the scope of the project, to provide as many styles of music as possible for the widest use in games or similar projects.

"Magic Maker" can work great for light-hearted, magic themed games.

"Lava Bubbles" is reminiscent of lava soundscapes in Super Mario. Made for light-hearted platformers.

"80s Investigator" is straight out the 80s, for games like GTA Vice City or 80s-themed point-and-click adventures.

Just to clarify, the rendered WAV versions of these loops are all posted in the Wave folder here: goo.gl/EmgWEQ

It's in Wave format so there's no quality loss. The freeware Ocenaudio or Audacity can be used to easily convert to MP3 if needed.

  • Treble is a collection of totally free music and soundscape loops. The goal is to provide game developers with music they can shorten, extend or remix if needed.

The collection is a bit different from other music and loop collections in that the MuLab project files are included. They function as templates to let you create similar sounds and they're built for use with treblemaker.ai. That highlights another distinctive. These loops are all created using treblemaker.ai, a free and open source, generative music project.

The loops are mixed/mastered in the free version of MuLab. The project files adhere to the free version limit of 4 tracks. For the most part, MuLab's free version is all that's needed to use them. In some cases, external free plugins will be used.

This is an ongoing project, more loops will be added. Feel free to ask any questions. I'll do my best to respond asap.

  • Hey luvleggs, sorry for the delay but I've just tested using the latest Construct 2 version and it works great for me using Google Chrome.

    Which browser(s) have you tried?

Also, were you able to load the project file? Was it able to load but not actually run the project?

  • Hi guys,

Thanks for your input, sorry if the instructions weren't quite as clear as I imagined. I'll see if I can maybe clear things up with a quick video tutorial.

piszozo, in the Future game, turning is affected by your speed and it can help to slow down prior to tight turns. I often speed up right as I'm about to get a "nibble" then target the next one.

Robsta, 50ish? My own highest streak was 40 and I thought that was good. I'll have to push and see if I can get to 50! As for speed, the Classic game has just a single speed just like the retro Snake and Nibbles games. The Future game uses the Up and Down keys to speed up and slow down (I'm sure you know that now, just clarifying for others).

    Cheers!

    David

  • This is really old now, but I just wanted to update that I've released the project code for this one here:

    http://ugotsta.github.io/nibble/

I actually didn't realize it was feasible to open-source a C2 project before, I thought the project files were binary/hex. The reason was that I was saving as a single-file, not realizing the multiple-file export creates xml files.

So, the project files are now available there. That includes the images and sound, both which are freely usable for other open-source projects. Feel free to contact me if you wish to use them for commercial projects.

Also, here's the updated Play link: http://ugotsta.github.io/nibble/play/

  • Hey ,

Terribly sorry for that! It's actually still up at Cloud9 but that definitely wasn't the optimal place to post it. It's now up at GitHub but I'll have to look at updating and having it on a GitHub page.

For now, you can find the code here:

    https://github.com/Ugotsta/wordpress-plugin-maker-for-construct2

And I've just set it up once again through Cloud9:

    https://ide.c9.io/ugotsta/wordpress-plugin-maker-for-construct2

A live-preview link (this will only be available a short time:

    https://preview.c9.io/ugotsta/wordpress-plugin-maker-for-construct2/index.html?_c9_id=livepreview0&_c9_host=https://ide.c9.io

Hope that helps for now, I've been planning out a way to allow uploading of the HTML5 files into WordPress so that it automatically makes the game available via shortcode. No ETA, but I'm working toward that, just need to find the time!

    Cheers,

    David

  • JuniorTabanez thanks! It's really just Construct 2's built-in shader support, but I think it's an awesome effect myself.

  • Hey everyone, you're most welcome of course!

ozkr I really am sorry for the late reply but I wasn't quite sure what you were referring to, then realized it's probably this: https://soundcloud.com/ugotsta/dance-of-the-spirits

I didn't mention a license specifically but sure, I generally go with Creative Commons, in this case a non-commercial one unless someone wants to contact me.

    Hope that helps! <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

  • Found the project file for this! I've attached it above for anyone interested. Rather amazing effect for such little work. Construct 2 makes it dead easy.

  • A quick update, the compilation is now up to 13 tracks, some of them being ambient textures to help fill the game background.

If anyone's interested, I've also been posting information on the creation of the tracks over at my blog. My latest post, Whispering Winds, for example.

  • I'm not sure about Google Apps myself but did you go through Ashley's tutorial? It's very thorough and neatly illustrated.

  • This is most excellent design work. Have you thought of selling through GraphicRiver instead?

I don't know if Payloadz provides better commission, but GraphicRiver is massive and just by posting this stuff on there I'm sure you'll get sales.

  • You're right, it's tough, at least for me! I really like the feel of the game, I'm just not so good at these types of games. Looks great though.

  • Try Construct 3

  • 125 score here!

And yep, very cool game. The graphics work very well and the game's simple, making it easy to get into.

I'd personally change the font myself. I'm just big on fonts, I think even Comic Sans might work well for it.
