  • If I would not be half day at work and need to have time after that for my family, I would join as well, but with just 1 week, I don't think I can come with something up that would be better than the last place :)

But this contest gave me an idea... what do you guys think about a Construct2 Version of "Picture Pong"? One starts on a game for about a week, after one week it is sent to the next person to continue work on it with his own ideas, and so on. Might be fun with the right participants :)

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I imagine that you have allocated the "Solid" Behaviour to your Sprite?

In the event sheet, just tell the sprite to set the solid to disabled.

If this is not what you were looking for, you should share a capx showing your problem.

  • Just made an example of my second suggestion, works very nice :)

  • hmm, I think this will slow down your game a lot to create the sprites every tick.

Is your game fixed to a max of 3 lifes? If it is, I would suggest to just put 3 instances of the sprite to your game directly and give them individual names. Based on the life variable, you should then just toggle the visibility to true/false. This will speed up everything a lot.

    EDIT: Damn Ninjas :)

    EDIT 2:

Another solution, that would be faster:

Set up the Life Sprite as a tiles background object. Based on your life, you can then just set the width of the object to show the correct number of hearts. With this, you would only need one action that calculates the necessary width of the background by (width of heart * # of lifes).

  • had this problem just once and it came up for me, when I closed C2 without opening any project.

  • There are a few games not having the SDK included in the game.

All you need to know is:

    • No Achievements
    • No Steam DRM (you can play them without having steam running)

Should not be a problem at all.

  • I think lucid is more the one who can tell you, but you can visit his Website for a free Beta and a lot of background info :)

There is no PlugIn yet developed for C2, so no idea how it will work in the end.

  • I think the easiest will be, when Spriter is final and the Importer PlugIn for C2 has been developed. Until then, I am also looking for a solution at the moment and playing around with Origin Points to attach graphics to the character... it is not that easy and I do hope someone else has an easier solution available :)

  • WebStorage

  • Not really, as OnLive is completely blocked for german customers. Still no interest in that console.

  • just from memory, could be spelled differently: -> On collide with object X -> show text

-> On Not Collide with object X -> hide text

    most simple solution.

  • not really needed but a nice idea. :)

Might be interesting for me when someone develops a speech2text plugin, so you can command the game with your voice ;)

  • interesting plugin, but can't think of a way yet how to use it in my games/ programs :)

Might have a look at it someday just to look how it is set up to learn from it ;)

  • I would guess, after the olympics :)

I am sure, Ashley is hiding somewhere now for the next 3 weeks ;)

  • Never told, I am perfect in english language ;)
