  • just wanted to post this too :)

Might be a good idea to continue work on this PlugIn instead of the EasyWebSocket stuff :)

  • Have you had a look at my experimental PhotonPlayer plugin? I'd be very happy for you to use my code as a basis for your own plugin.

Not yet, wanted to start from scratch but might have a look ;)

  • even it does not turn out to be any good (even for a BattleShips or 4-in-a-row Game). For me, it will be a big experience to work on it and hopefully gives to knowledge to continue working on my Photon Server Plugin :)

  • I would not say, that it is a cucial requirement. Back in the 90, there were not really Game Servers but Peer to Peer connections and the game itself took care of a server behaviour. This is something, you can actually do with EasyWebSockets.

I am trying to give the best possible functionality with the PlugIn to allow sending object specific coordinates, a Chat System and maybe other stuff.

In Addition, you can also set up 2 different games, one version to be run as a client only Game and one that mainly runs as a Server and broadcasts the results. (okay, you need to have a Browser somewhere that is running the server Game all the time. But it is possible) :)

  • Interested enough to start working on it :)

If anyone likes to join to bring up the best possible, feel free to join me ;)

PS.: Not working yet, as I am still in set up process.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • How about uploading an update with just one screen and the text:

"This game has to be removed, but Ashley and Tom liked it so much that they they are delaying this."

  • no, completely different systems.

  • ah sorry, Fraps does only capture DirectX Applications...

For the browser, all I can think of is this one:

    HyperCam

EDIT: Fraps can record the desktop, but only on Vista and Windows 7, if you are using Windows XP, you have no luck. And you need to use the Aero Desktop.

  • it is, thank you :)

  • are you sure? I have a lot of programs running at the moment (some do use up a lot of Ram) and my CPU is just used up by 2%.

    Intel i3 3.3 GHz, 4GB Ram

Never had any problems here using video capture tools.

Which capturing Tools have you tried so far? Demo versions or registered?

  • hmm, does not sound too bad. You shall not have too many problems with capturing videos. Can it be, that you have a lot of other programs running in the background?

Try to end every program that is currently running that you don't really need (Office, other games, steam, don't know what else). If you call up the task-manager you can see how the CPU is used at the moment and how much of your RAM is free to use.

  • You know, that you can edit your post, instead of posting 3 times in a row?

For video capturing, I would suggest Fraps. If it laggs, it might be a problem with your computer, would help if you post your computer specs, so we can see what the main problem is. :)

  • you need to upload somewhere (Dropbox as an example) and post the link here.

  • Hi all,

with all the contests I can see around, I just had an idea and would like to find out if there is interest here to set this up (just for fun, nothing to win here, except knowledge).

    The Idea:

For every participent in this little experiment a game is set up. For one week, everyone is working on the basic set up of the game (he can choice for himself the theme and any aspect of it) and delivers it to me, on the next step each game will be forwarded to the next person who has one week as well to add/delete/alter any aspect of the game he received. This will go on until everyone had his hand on any of the games.

After the Game passed every single participant it will come back to the one who started it to see what happened with it and do final adjustments.

    Why?

I think this would be a nice learn something new, have a very unique experience and a lot of fun.

I think 4-6 participants at the max should be allowed for this, otherwise it would take too long. (If more are interested to take part, I could also set up separate groups)

    Rules:

As some might use the free version of Construct2 and not everyone uses PlugIns, the game should be limited to the limits of the free edition and no PlugIns used. (Or if everyone is fine with PlugIns, we can change the rule, this is up to you) :)

So, anyone interested to check out this experience? And let me know, if you have any questions :)

  • hmm, can't see them :)
