    > Ah, that makes perfect sense. True, if you haven't bought it and heard an upgrade was coming up recently, than definitely. Maybe Scirra and Ashley can do a sort of promotion to dismiss those worries. How about those that purchase C2 within 2 or 4 months from purchasing C3, only need to pay the difference in price between what they paid for C2 and the full price of C3?

For someone who does not have Construct 2, the question is ..

What is cheaper to buy C2 and upgrade to C3 or buy C3 directly?

It will be cheaper to buy C3 directly instead of first spending €100 on C2 and then €XX on upgrade. (Previous C2 owners will get a discount by they haven't said how much). but in the end it will be cheaper to buy C3 directly.

  • Loving the art style, did you make it or can you share the art of the background and trees ect?

  • You have to ultimately integrate it with the Steamworks SDK I believe

Is this within construct 2 or third party software?

    Any tutorials on this?

  • A lot of "to" in title.

I exported my project as a Node project and it works when I run it.

If I would submit it to steam greenlight (I assume no game is submitted in the start, only info, images ect), so if my game would be accepted, do I need to add something thirdparty to it?

or do I just submit the app.exe ?

    > Love C2 and using it everyday, so honestly, I'm not really in any rush for C3, cause so far, I believe the only limitation to me building games is my own ability and not C2. But am looking forward to it.

    I couldn't agree more.

Same but I think a lot of people are hesitating purchasing C2 since C3 license is not free (You need to pay 2 upgrade), and with C3 in developed for so long the date of release can be anytime, can be tomorrow, can be in 1 month or 1 year, since there is no ETA and they worked on C3 for so long time.

Should definitely give some kind of ETA on when C3 is getting released.

I have a friend that wont purchase the C2 since C3 is 'around the corner'.

  • In theory you can publish a simple NW.js exported game to Steam (someone correct me if I'm wrong), but you won't be able to use the Steam API (overlay, achievements, etc.). For those, you'll need a Steam plugin. Go either with the experimental Greenworks (note that it's experimental) plugin: experimental-greenworks-plugin_t117833

Or go with one of these paid plugins:

    https://www.scirra.com/store/construct2 ... basic-2546

    https://www.scirra.com/store/construct2 ... am4c2-2545

You'll need to pay the Greenlight submission fee (one time payment for a developer account):

    http://store.steampowered.com/app/219820/

After you are ready, you can set up a Greelight page and start gathering votes to be greenlit.

So nothing really? Just export as a Node-Webkit and we are good to go?

Nothing else? I don't need to pay for any plugins like you linked there, (Only steam fee but I got that covered).

How is it when game gets greenlit ect? Do I just give steam the .exe or?

    I mean, A tutorial on

Construct 2 to steam tutorial would be the best

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Wanna make a game for PC, with like standard resolution of 1280,720, 1920,1080 ect.. How do I do this?

Yeah, make an image. Set Use Loader Layout to Yes. Haha, I don't make a habit out of editing backend js files.

In the export folder of your project you edit the c2runtime.js

    find DodgerBlue in Line 4731

... replace this # your color

This have to be done with every export since c2runtime.js is overwritten

Is it possible to have a custom loading screen instead of loading bar / text

    Like this?

  • so what exactly needs to be in the game to be able to export for steam?? any videos?

This is where I got when Googling Construct 2 to steam

A few years later, any good tutorials?

  • That is easy . Just set the Loader style to "Progressbar & logo"(standard) in the project settings and then replace/overwrite the sicrra logo that you can find in Files -> Icon : "loading-logo.png".

I mean like this one before you get launched in to the game!

And thanks for that answer, I was gonna ask it later

  • You can't. You'll have to make a custom loader layout of your own.

    Any tuts on this??

  • Just played Bio-Gun on Scirra Arcade by BL4CKWAT3R

    https://www.scirra.com/arcade/shooting- ... -wip-11640

How do I simulate the startup when the player falls down to the platform before the game starts?

  • I would like to create a game for PC (Steam) Where friends can peer to peer connect with friends, with a system that kinda

"Player X invites player Y to the game" -> They now are in a peer2peer connection with each other until they disconnect.

    How do I do this?

Is there any guides or templates I can work from?

  • Hi are you not afraid that Mr. Trump will take this as an offense and tell google to remove it?

I searched about this before and saw this

"It seems a name itself can not be copyright (so you can use their name in a news article for instance), however if you are benefiting from using their name/image then it is a violation of publicity rights."

  • Oh, that is a lot of objects! I guess I would just recommend that next time you delete as you go, sorry I couldn't help out. Hope you find a solution!

Yeah I know it's my fault, I am also stupid with the names.

"Spikes" is a main object in my game, I have like 50 different ones in my game that isn't being used because I was testing around as stated.

And they all have the name "Spike, spike1, spike2, sprite 32, sprite 66" ect...

For my next games I will always delete as I go and keep a good name scheme
