  • Being 1 based isn't nearly as big a deal as it's being made out to be, Lua is 1 based and it's a fantastic language. The real problem is the inconsistency.

  • Vectors, universal game pad support, and plug-ins written in C# or Java. Especially vectors, I didn't foresee this limitation being a problem, but it may force me to use Game Maker or SFML.

  • Perfect timing, I was hoping this would be fixed before we started serious work on our game - which will begin this weekend. Thank you.

  • Is the SDK fully compatible with 0.99.91? Just asking since it's over a year old.

  • vdrake75 you're only making things worse with these kinds of posts.

I realize you're upset and feel the need to reply quickly, but taking the time to edit and cleaning up the presentation (caps are a no-no) of your posts will go a long way towards people taking you more seriously. Also, it will give you more time to think your ideas through.

No one will give up their free time easily. It is up to you to provide a very good reason for someone to give up that time.

  • Thank you everyone for the feedback, particularly the practical advice. We'll be going ahead with Construct.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Myself and a few others are prepared to make a full length game which will be similar to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. I've been evaluating Construct and Game Maker for the last two months and have reached an impasse. While both are very good tools, I have been unable to ascertain how well Construct will hold up against a large scale project (it handles small games very well). I know Game Maker is up to the task, but I dislike the vague license and its lack of greater than directx 8 support.

Which brings me back to the question: can a full length game (which may have commerical potential) with all the fixings feasibly be made in Construct v0.99.85?

    Thank you.

  • Hi,

My name is Trevor. I've been programming for about two years mostly with Java, PHP, and JavaScript. Game programming has always interested me, but I have only recently took the steps to become a game programmer. I've started learning Python and am studying hard. I'm also learning Pygame. I found out about Construct while looking at the GameMaker forum (of all places). After I learnt that Construct has an internal Python scripting engine I decided this is the right game engine for me. Currently, I'm more interested in helping people with their games than I am in learning Construct in depth and making my own game. However, I'm going to give the tutorials a good look over. If anyone has a game that might benefit from a little scripting send me pm.
