  • So the Else statement didn't work either. I'm sure I just messed it up.

I went with 1-timescale bit. Very simple and gets the job done. Thanks all.

  • Jase00 that just broke the button. Now it does nothing.

LittleStain I am not how that would work exactly.

  • Hey!

I am trying to make a pause menu and, well, take a look at my code.

    <img src="http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/3158/hx68.png" border="0" />

I can press the menu button and it pauses the game and displays the pause menu. But when I press the menu button again, the pause menu will not disappear and the time scale will not set it self back to 1.0.

  • Yea, the physics are on and the brick pieces fall down. They just don't have that "pop-up" effect. Here is a link below that has the effect I am trying to go for. Watch as the Leprechaun jumps up to break the blocks.

This is what I am working with. I just need to give the pieces a burst of energy upwards and then let them fall on their own.

If this gets too complicated I will just switch back to using a particle system and just forget adding collisions.

  • Hey!

I need help with pieces of a brick flying off in their own direction.

I was using particles but I had to switch to sprites because I want to use collisions. As of right now my four sprites break off and go in their own direction, which is good, but I can't seem to set the gravity of these sprites.

    Anyone able to help?

    Thanks!

  • You have a lot of Destoys in there. Have you tried using restart layout?

  • I am needing someone to design seven levels each for three different worlds. The type of levels I am looking for are similar to what you would see in any 2D Mario game or Donkey Kong series. Key points I am needing.

    -Progressively more challenging

    -Simple Hidden Areas

    -Vertical and/or Horizontal layouts

Simple graphics like lines and boxes painted in a JPEG or PNG will work just fine.

Do not design them in Construct 2.

I can't offer any payment except for a percentage of sales. Sales could be $0 or $10,000 who knows. This is basically volunteer work. I think this will be good practice for myself and anyone I work with. Contact me on here if you are interested.

  • Is anyone else worried CocoonJS will start charging for its services?

  • The sound didn't work for me.

  • You are right. I tried to teach my self arrays and failed miserably. Now I am afraid to back to them lol.

  • I don't want to use any plugins. You never know when the creator will up and quit the project. Reading through that post has helped a lot. Its all coming together in my head now.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Hmm, I'll put together a .capx and see how that turns out.

  • Hey you,

First off, I am not looking for someone to hand me the answer to my question. Unless its easy for you or something.

Second, I suck with Arrays. I don't like them. I would like to avoid them if at all possible.

Now my question! How do I implement a turn based battle system that you see in just about every RPG out there. You know, the standard all player characters attack, then that turn ends and the computer attacks.

I have it all up in my head on how this would work but I just sort of need a kick in the right direction.

    Thank You,

    Stephen

  • Have you updated to 144.2 like Ashley said? Have you checked for video card updates yet?
