  • Is there a way I can change my email address on these forums?

I keep getting notifications to my old address. And It doesn't allow forwarding to my new address.

    Thanks

  • Great link, nice to see all that info in one place.

  • The best way is to find an animation school and do everything you can to get enrolled.

While you're still in high school, I would suggest drawing every chance you can.

Also, get some books on animation. I'd especially recommend Cartoon Animation by Preston Blair and Character Animation Crash Course! by Eric Goldberg. Both can be found at amazon.com

Don't fall into the trap of thinking that because you might want to work in CG animation, that you don't need to know how to draw. It's extremely important to learn how to make something look good on paper, before you can make it look good in a computer.

Also, I'd suggest getting a copy of anime studio, adobe flash or some other animation program. You can really learn a lot just by experimenting yourself.

    Hope that helps

  • Awesome.

    Thanks for that.

I'll have a play with that this evening.

  • Hi,

Is there a way to have the user be able to browse the files on their computer?

I basically want the user to be able to choose a file from their drive to use in an app. It's easy enough to have them type a path in, but I'd much rather they could browse for the file.

    Thanks for your help

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Awesome, thanks so much. Works like a charm.

I have a feeling this is really going to come in handy for future stuff.

  • Hi there,

I'm wondering how I would duplicate a sprite multiple times across the layout, each one at x amount from the previous one created?

    Basically what I'm doing is:

I have a rain sprite, that is 32 pixels wide, that I'd like to cover the full layout, to create the illusion of rain. But I'd rather not cover the whole layout editor in instances of it, so I thought it might be possible with an event at the start of the layout.

    Hopefully that makes sense.

Any help would be very much appreciated

    Thanks

  • Great job, this will definitely sell Construct to those fools who don't use it yet

The motion graphics were awesome too. Some very talented people in this neck of the woods.

  • I managed to get it working, using a switch to a middle camera.

Was a little tricky, but I got there.

    Thanks heaps for your help

  • Thanks for that.

I'll give it a go later maybe later tonight.

On a side note, is there a way to destroy a camera?

There seems to be a destroy all cameras option, but nothing for specific cams, unless I'm missing it somewhere.

    Thanks again

  • Hi everyone,

I'm using the advanced camera plugin for a little game project that I'm working on.

Basically what I'd like to happen, is to use Grid Scrolling for the majority of the game, except for when I enter a certain area, at which point I'd like the camera to zoom out.

I've managed to get this working by smoothly switching cameras as I overlap a detector sprite.

The problem is, when I walk away from it again, I'd like to switch back to the original camera, but it does some strange things.

    Here's the cap: http://www.wethesqueemish.com/construct/environmentTest.cap

Head right (arrow keys) to zoom out, then left again to see the issues.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

  • I'm getting an error too.

I'm very keen to check it out though.

Can you post an exe maybe?

  • Hi,

Can you post an explanation of exactly whats happening here please.

I love the effect, but I'm not sure I quite understand how you're achieving it.

    Thanks

  • Love it.

    Great work.

  • Awesome, thanks heaps for that.

I've got a physics game that I haven't touched for a while cause it would annoy me too much, this could be just what I need to get back into it.
