  • Thanks for the reply.

This seems to cause problems for me. It's like it's choosing the direction based on the shortest distance.

    I'm rotating towards 0?

I've basically got it set up so if the object is moving left, and it jumps, it will rotate counter-clockwise. Then I'm using the "rotate towards angle" when it's falling to straighten it out. And likewise for when it's moving right.

On the odd occasion it rotates the opposite way when it's falling, though most of the time, it's going the correct way. This is just by setting the "rotate towards angle" degrees to 10.

Really I'm just trying to get rid of those odd times when it's wrong.

  • Hi there,

Just wondering if there's a simple way to use the 'rotate towards angle" action, but restrict it to a specific direction, eg. clockwise.

    Thanks in advance

  • Just wanted to make a suggestion for future releases of C2 to add to the growing list.

I know I would use more color correction effects a lot if they were in there.

A set channels option, curves editor, hue/saturation, tint, levels etc. That in combination with more blending modes, like the current additive, but also including multiply, screen, color burn etc would be absolutely amazing additions and really open up the options for making your games look pretty.

Not to mention the possibility of anaglyph 3D games with very little effort. Ooh, I like that idea :)

  • Hi everyone,

I've recently started using more plugins and I thought of a suggestion that could possibly help in this department.

A button in the object creation screen that checks for updates on the selected plugin. Often I won't even notice if an update gets posted in the forums for a plugin, so this would make things much smoother.

Not sure how hard it is to implement though

    Cheers

  • Sounds awesome!

    Nice work.

Can't wait to have a proper play

  • Awesome!

    Really impressive, nice work

  • I had the same issue until recently. It opens up a whole new world of possibilities once you find out you can add expressions

Quazi, that looks rad! Nice work!

  • Damn, I'm getting an unexpected error when i run it.

Keen to give it a go. I'll see if somethings conflicting.

  • [quote:zt0ofcbh]interesting mvt mechanic. are you using lerp for that?

No, I've got a waypoint that moves to where you click or touch and the car always turns towards it.

Then I just set it to move forward.

Here's my first C2 test. Nothing terribly exciting, got a few bugs. But it's a start

  • Oh and Out There Somewhere looks awesome! Can't wait to play it!

  • As someone who does both Hd 2D and pixelart I can say that I don't think either is easier.

They both have completely different challenges.

And I'm not sure that comparison image really gets the point across, if you were to recreate the hi-res image in pixelart it would be a LOT more difficult than just drawing it straight. Recreating the blocks in full res wouldn't be that difficult I can't imagine.

If you can draw full res 2D then I've found that the challenges of pixelart are kind of refreshing. When you draw something straight you just draw it, thats really the only challenge, being good enough to get it right. With pixels the restrictions of space become an all new challenge, one that I really enjoy tackling.

I'm sure other artists are the same. And there absolutely is the nostalgia aspect as well, I love the idea of making games like the ones I grew up playing.

  • Ooh, that works nicely. Thanks heaps!

  • Interesting.

How do I use an expression to set the color filter, it only gives me a color picker?
