  • tulamide It's not just you.. I've noticed this, too.

  • I don't know much about blend modes.. but something doesn't seem right to me about that, either..

destination over appears to be affected by this, as well..

  • Turn on snap to grid.

  • I'm using 184, so I can't see, but will this work?

    if overlapping

    then disable platform

    and enable 8-direction

    else

    disable 8-direction

    and enable platform

  • Try Construct 3

  • A blind guess, since we have no idea how you're doing all this (a capx would certainly help):

add a "trigger once while true" to whatever is triggering more than once that you don't want to.

  • Read the error: "Trigger found as subevent to a loop - this is not allowed, IDE will prevent this setup in future"

I don't know if it works in your context, but using a non-trigger keyboard, such as "key is down" will work.

  • AFAIK, It's not a bug.. Downloading webfonts takes time, and obviously they can't be displayed before this time.. What can Scirra do about that?

Spritefonts are (almost?) always the better route to take.

  • in 2001 games only had 5 buttons? I think you're thinking of 1981..

tulamide is correct on all accounts.

"You are claiming Construct 2 supports all platforms like android, ios, windows, etc" I don't even see how that's relevant to your complaint. C2 claims that and it's true.

Tutorials are provided by the community, not so much Scirra (although, they've been nice enough to include some as well.)

Instead of getting on the forums (for your first post and our first impression of you as a C2 community member) and complaining, why not get on and ask for some help? Share with us what you've found and what you find to be lacking. You'd be amazed how helpful this community can be.. But you might want to approach it a bit differently...

I'm assuming you saw this: https://www.scirra.com/manual/173/iap and didn't find what you were looking for?

  • If the blur is permanent (not turning on and off), I would get rid of the effect altogether and make the glow built in to the sprite. Not using the effect will save on cpu.

Load it up in photoshop, duplicate the layer, gauss blur the bottom one. It'll look exactly the same.

  • read the manual. do tutorials. search the forum.

is that your layout or window size?

    do you know the difference?

if not, find out. then come back and ask if you still don't get it.

and to answer your question: system--set layout scale.

  • If you don't know how to make a grid, I would really recommend trying something a bit simpler than a multiplayer sandbox... Try the tutorials...

  • I would like to know this, too... I have random thoughts on it which are based on nothing whatsoever, so I will keep them to myself.. heh.

  • 5 events!?! R0J0hound you crazy!

    crazy awesome!

I think a version of this will probably end up in the game I'm working on..

    So thank you!

  • Well, I was more hoping just to get some more ideas on how to approach the situation. As usual, after a night of sleep, I've got a million more ways in my head to try out already, heh.

I'm not so worried about it falling slower (still looks a bit weird falling that slow and then filling up so fast with the spawns) or having a prettier graphic.. I'll get to tweaking all that stuff, eventually... Thanks, though!

  • when I run the capx (preview or exported) it doesn't look like the video..

EDIT: I guess you said the video exaggerates it, but I only get one moment of jerkiness (if at all) right on the initial load.

Not that I haven't experienced the jerkiness, I'm just not seeing it here.
