  • creator as in person or software?

  • We don't know what it is you're wanting it to do differently, so it's kind of hard to help.. As a guess, try changing some of the physics settings like the angular damping..

  • Burvey is the king of StuffGEN!

Somebody I really like where this is going. I'm super impressed. Keep it up!

  • A Lift and a Logo!

  • Indeed! Thanks!

  • Congrats! That's super awesome!!

  • Had a bit of a look but will give a more in depth critique later

I know, I know... I'm working on it! (These level designs are actually my brother's evil doing.)

We're making it easier, I promise!

Thanks for checking it out! I've already changed it so much since that one, how bout saving the critique for a later version?

EDIT: PS Just noticed, my website's back up, if you still wanna check that stuff out!

  • hey man this is cool <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy"> Who's the artist?

Thanks!! I did the art. My brother's helping with me level designs and motivation, other than that, it's all me.

Can't access this. Same with the devlog link

Yeah, we just changed hosts so everything's down temporarily till we get all that figured out. Should be back up in a day or two, along with a dedicated site for the project!

Did you see the demo version I just put up yesterday? (Art/Animations aren't in there yet, but gameplay is!)

I realize now the levels aren't great for a demo, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!

  • well.. whether it is or not, that's where your collision checks are coming from...

  • It's something to do with having so many objects with the platform behaviour... I'm not exactly sure what, but I've come across some threads were people were saying it caused problems to have too many platform behaviour objects.

EDIT: oh, and to actually answer your question (sorry).. that might be a bit high, but it really only matters if it's causing problems on whatever device you're targeting...

  • okay Kan you've got me thoroughly confused now.. Somebody come along and explain this please?

  • Wow! This is really cool!

  • Prominent Thanks! I was considering having a float timer and will definitely be tweaking the float control.

Somebody Awesome feedback! Thank you so much! I do intend to make death a very big and fun part of the game. At the same time, I have a bad habit of the "I designed this so I know how to get through it, haha!" thing. heh. It's a fine line!

The camera scrolling needs some work which hopefully will help with some of the closeup problems.

I will definitely make sure to make the obstacles stand out when I get the real art/animations in there.

Wonderfully helpful feedback. I appreciate it a ton.

One question if you guys don't mind, I have an animation where the ostrich (player) turns into a balloon for the float.. would that + tighter camera scrolling make the float feel better, or is it just too hard to control?

  • So glad you didn't decide to go into medicine.

newt I always know I'm in for a treat when I see you've replied to a post like this one...

    I got the main mechanics working for my game (I think), so I put together the first 4 levels of a demo. I would love all the feedbacks - The Good <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy"> , The Bad <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad"> , and especially The Ugly <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_evil.gif" alt="" title="Evil or Very Mad"> .

Artwork is placeholder and you might find bugs and all your typical disclaimers...

I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts. What did you like? What did you hate? Did you think it was fun? Did you finish it? etc..

Not looking for bug reports at the moment, but they couldn't hurt...

    Thanks in advance!
