  • And my number one favorite game:

    1. GTA San Andreas

This is the game that I keep going back to more than any other. I've beaten it several times, and I almost never get tired of playing it. And it has THE BEST soundtrack of any game, ever (well, non-game music soundtrack anyway).

You'd love APB Reloaded then :)

    Some of my currents are:

    • Minecraft
    • Terraria
    • Gratuitous Space Battles
    • APB Reloaded

Some old ones I played the sh*t out of:

    • Legend of Zelda
    • Super Mario Bros 1,2,3
    • TMNT (arcade and NES)
    • Hard Drivin
    • Ninja Gaiden 1,2,3
    • ToeJam and Earl
    • Air Blasters (or Aero Busters depending where you are from)
    • Splatterhouse
    • Mike Tyson's Punchout
    • Fight Night (any version)

  • Working on some procedural space makin'.

Currently controls are limited. You can make the little ships explore around until they have reached every planet and consider it "discovered". This will be become far more complex in the near future.

The seed that is supplied is a good example since it seems to contain all elements of the current design procedure, nicely balanced. If you change it you will get different results.

Let me know what you think. :)

    *EDIT*

Currently, the background is "borrowed". It was for a proof of concept, so I will be adding my own background(s) soon. Until then, thank you random artist.

  • Cool man looking great :D

Coloured lighting is always fun ;)

  • I totally agree.

I still prefer 2D in most cases anyway. Personally I think you can get a much better looking game using 2D than using 3D any day.

  • $6 for a pack of smokes? More like $15-$20+ over here depending what you smoke... and they say that Americans are "in financial trouble".

    Pffft.

Anyway, I loved Crusader... it was awesome :D

  • Oh wow.... the irony xD

  • Grappling hook all the way... it's "cool factor" is over 9000.

Jetpacks are boring and stupid... and boring.

  • Oh when I say dying I don't mean it will ever completely vanish...

Dying means pretty much what you said... shrinking...

It's just a very uncommon skill that people possess and use these days, and I mainly blame 3D for that.

  • Pretty sure there was already a thread about this years ago, but what the heck... a fresh start is always good.

I was looking for a demo for MMF at the time that was made by Tigerworks (Ashleys old "name"), and stumbled on to Construct. At the time I think we were very early beta stages (pre 0.5 or maybe even earlier than that!) and I immediately preferred Construct for many reasons.

Since then I have been honoured with a trusty ban-hammer, and have been around to see the community and the software evolove and grow.

And just when you think I'm not looking... I will see you while I lurk... like ceiling cat, only scarier.

I remember that day... you still insist on making this all because of me but I didn't do jack except give you a nudge of encouragement. You have done all the hard work and made it happen. You don't have anyone to thank but yourself, since you are awesome and all that good stuff. :)

  • How is your wife doing Arsonide?

It's sad to hear of things like this... as if life doesn't already have enough BS to deal with. I hope all is well mate, and best of luck.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • So I finally got around to building up the courage to install this thing and try it out.

    It's freaking amazing.

I wanted a seed generator, and in less than 3 hours I had it installed and a working seed generator that builds my star-map for a project I am working on.

I finally got a good collaboration partner, and we have been working non-stop... and "S" has just made our lives so much easier and better.

Lucid... I love you man :D

  • Pixel art... True pixel art, like the examples in this thread so far... Is a dying skill. Not many people can still make real artwork this way any more. These examples look great though. Outstanding and inspirational.
