  • OK so it took me longer than anticipated... blame my friends for making me party and participate in real life for the weekend.

Here is the final preview build for the control engine. There is still some bug fixing and tweaking to do on the wall jump and slide etc, but it should be enough of an idea of how things are going to work for the demo, then full version.

Let me know what bugs you guys find if that's cool... I am aware of a few, but any I have missed... yeah.

    New Controls:

Roll: Crouch then move left or right.

Wall Jump: Stand near a wall (or jump towards it) then hold SHIFT to wall jump

Wall Slide: Hold a direction towards a wall

The way this is setting out, will be basically MOVE keys and an ACTION button. The action button will work a lot like the "free run" button in Assassins Creed where you can pretty much hold shift to do a combination of climbing and jumping etc. The only time you have to press "action" to a precise timing is to jump/leap over traps or gaps.

    Have fun!

  • > LOL my MSI Wind whoops the s**t out of that piece of crap... the thing's hardware is so far outdated already, and it's over priced to the maximum (for what it is). My Wind cost me LESS than that thing... and I can run higher resolution, 80gb storage, WiFi, graphics accelerator, Linux or windows....etc.etc. And it's not that much larger in size...

I can't see many games coming out for it in all honesty, and it will die in the arse in about 12-18 months time unless the homebrewers pick up the slack... but that's only cool if you like playing anime H-games about masturbation, or the 600th version of nude Tetris.

That was so funny... and sad at the same time. You must be very resentful because of your "small" laptop that isn't so small . I think that Pandora doesn't suppose to compete with netbooks but more likely with PMP's, handheld gaming devices, handheld computers and so on. So Wind isn't the best product to compare to ...and there is a huge size difference.

    http://www.sizeasy.com/page/size_comparison/18356-MSI-Wind-vs-Pandora

The battery in Pandora lasts for more than 10hours when netbooks with 3cell batteries lasts about 2hours.

Yeah I guess it's aimed at a different audience really... I mean, it's got some cool features, but what I was trying to say is... I'd rather my Wind than that thing. I have so many gaming consoles and crap already I don't need another one... especially one that hasn't got any firm developers locked in.

Besides, the wind isn't very big or heavy at all, and I have a 6 cell battery, not the 3 cell one... it lasts about 4 hours depending if I am using WiFi and have the screen set to full brightness etc.

how do i get this back, is there a way to set every thing to default?

Uninstall Construct, and reinstall it... that will certainly fix it.

  • What's all this talk of Crysis looking crap?!? It really doesn't. It may run crap, but no way in hell does it look crap in Very High DX10.

I don't think it looks like anything special to be honest... I think COD4 looks better than Crysis.

It might as well look like a unicorn turd because I'll never see it on my crappy ass computer

    LOL! Go deadeye

Who in the world would run 4870X2 with normal coolers Il get something else for em than stock.

Most people. In fact, unless you are going water cooling, then the stock fans are way better than any aftermarket crap you buy. Not to mention it voids any warranty you have on your card if you change it.

And one 4870X2 isnt just a bit faster than one GTX280 its a lot faster ^^

Not in 1280X1024 resolution but check this review

    just example^^

That "review" is a load of shit. Sorry.

Try something that uses no biased hardware reviewers testing it on more than just one game that happens to prefer ATI graphics cards in general.

No offense but I sell PC hardware for a living and have done so for the last 15 years... I would like to think I have some idea what I'm talking about when it comes to what's what, and what's bullshit.

  • OHLOL!

    Epic thread of the century.

    +WIN

    Pass GO!, Collect $200...

I'm flattered you guys thought it was me... but sadly I am not awesome enough to ever think to do this kind of stuff. Now I wish it was me

Too bad Ash banhammered the ol' Google... it could have been fun to make posts on the rare occasion using that account.

  • Looking good mate! I have to agree with deadeye on the sword and the wall slide... but it's one of those things I'm sure, it's probably half finished like a lot of my stuff when I release it for test.

    Keep it up man!

    ~Sol

  • OK, really cool idea... but kinda badly executed due mainly to the fact it's so HARD to play. I think with some slightly better level designs this game could be sweet. I like the effects and the way you fire the ball around, it's pretty original... but the levels I tried were just way to unrealistically hard, at least for beginner levels.

    Suggestion:

Make easier levels with progressive difficulty, name them appropriately, IE: Beginner - Level 1 - (Title of Level), Intermediate - Level 10 - (Title of Level), etc

Other than that, it was pretty cool as far as a fairly original game idea and design.

  • Will be sure to check this out, looks like a cool puzzle game. I like puzzle games.

Yeah I was taking him out of context FTW!

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Push! Sol, that work aint gonna get done by itself, and we all know Deadeye is "terribly, terribly lazy". OK im lazy too but... well deadeye has more posts so that doesnt mean he can be lazy!

Anyway, just an idea, maybe you can add little med kits or something that if you've been hurt you can press a button to use them to fill up a very small portion of life. maybe bandaids lol. Unless of course if anything you touch is gonna be a one hitter quitter. Then this game is going to be hella hard

    LOL Bandaids hahahaha!

Yeah I was planning on having seperate difficulty setting, which basically affect how much damage you take fom getting hit with traps... easy mode will be minimal damage to the point you would be able to run through an entire saw traps (for example) and not quite die. Medium would allow you to contact it a little bit, but you'd take pretty heavy damage, and Hard mods will be like you said, a one hitter quitter. This should be easy enough to add using a global variable, and using that as a damage multiplier.

I am going to try and finish the wall slide, roll, and wall jump today and upload the final build before I start working on an official demo. Deadeye, I will send you the CAP once I have added the animation files for wall jump, wall slide, and roll... that way you can make any adjustments accurately since the proper animations will be there.

    Cheers guys!

  • And Soldjah wait till i get my nvidia killers-.- 2X 4870X2 hihihihiihi

The 4870x2 is only a tiny bit faster than one of my single GPU gtx280's... and it runs like 5 times the temperature. I really like ATI, but the fact you an cook an egg on your video card when it not even doing anything, or boil salt saturated water on it easily when it's pumping hard... kinda turned me off the 4870x2's. I'm pretty happy with my frame rates (as posted up there somewhere ^ ).

Oh and, Crysis looks like crap I agree... I only use it as a benchmark because NOBODY can run it very well at all (unless you have an extreme editon CPU overclocked to the hills, DDR3 2000Mhz RAM, and possibly a third GTX280 or similar card).

    ~Sol

  • Ah yes buys you are brilliant

I'll have to add something to her other leg... like perhaps a red handkerchief or something tied around it... absolutely right....

    DAMN! MORE EDITING! lol

Oh well... I'll get to it later... I want to finish coding the engine and stuff since all of the major animations are now done... and adjustments can be made later on without affecting anything.

    Good eyes guys, thanks!
