  • Sagal, I don't want to get into a bitch fight about this... but I fail to see how you think PhysX is cheating, when the majority of games support it and from now on, nearly all new games will boast PhysX support. If I am getting nearly the same frame rate with a single GTX280 as your super mega dual GPU 4870x2... then that's that mate. End of story really. Mind you, I have 2x GTX280's so I don't care either way...

Have fun with your 3 bar power sucking heater brick.

P.S. I'm not saying that the 4870x2 is a crap card... I'm just saying there are much more viable options out there for the price... oh and, you are trying to compare a dual GPU card to a single GPU card... if the GTX280 was dual GPU (in comparison) it would whoop the living poop out of the 4870x2, IE my current SLI setup (but it's a bit pricey).

  • Here's a quick summary. If you need more info, I can print a system scan out.

    Vista 64 bit Home premium

2 Nvidia 8800 GT 512mb graphics cards running SLI

Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 2.40 ghz

XFX Nforce 780I SLI intel socket 775 ddr2 motherboard

    4 gigs of ram ddr2

    2x 250g sata hard drives

    64bit Windows... lulz

Let's emulate 32bit software and run slower than 32bit Windows... yay!

At a random guess, I'd blame that.

  • Speaking of which... PATH BEHAVIOR

I think someone already suggested this movement, how's the plan of making it ?

Yeah I have to second this. It would help in a lot of cases that I have been using in the past, as well as my current project. Trying to set inital X and Y coordinates, and blah blah blah.... it's harder than it should be, but still possible. A path movement behaviour would rock.

When I didn't see ~Sol after that post I had to do a double-take on your avatar

    OMAIGAWD WUT U SED?

  • Well back on topic and all... those concept sketches look mad. The main character looks totally original and awesome to boot. Can't wait to see some early sprite animation and get a feel for what the game will be like.

  • I don't have FRAPS on this laptop... but it ran fine until I spawned like 30 or so ships then it started to slow down. After 50+ ships it was unplayable. This thing only has an 8400M 256Mb graphics chip though.

    Now he's a male, haha now THAT'S a joke.

    OH BURRRRRRRN

    ~Sol

  • Looks pretty good

Wait a 'her'...does that mean we have female users ?

Now now Davo, let's not get too excited! xD

  • Well.... crap....

  • Wouldn't it be just as easy/better to have TimeDelta enabled by default in the way the events work? I am yet to figure out how to add it and get it to work... one time I tried, Construct gave me some sort of runtime error when I tried to test my game out, so I removed the timeDelta(s) and it worked fine after that.

  • So I heard I had to come in this thread and be all like, signed.

    ~Sol

  • I was wondering what the hell that did... I played with it once and I couldn't figure it out lol.

  • Looks great Link! This does look more like a "real" flame thrower, but even a real one still has an enlarging flame towards the end of the stream. If you added a scaler to the little ball objects it would be perfect IMO.

    Nice work though, runs sweet!

  • Wow Sol, this thing is much more solid than last time I tried it. The handplant looks MUCH better now that I see what looks to be the full thing. You must've had a hard time putting in the wall jump since you had to make the name of it "****ing Work!!!" XD. Those kill saws are much more menacing now too. I ran into a bug when I rolled around in the lava and then jumped to the side platform to do a hand plant while still holding down crouch. I was glitched and couldnt move and the animation would be stuck on rolling. I haven't been able to do this again so I guess it was just a lucky fluke. Its looking pretty cool now and more importantly FUN. Ill be sure to play the demo when it comes out

    Hey thanks mate

I'll look into that glitch you found... I probably just have to add some extra conditions into the event for the hand plant or something. Shouldn't be too hard to fix that up

Glad you like the extra stuff so far... still needs tweaking because the wall slide cuts you into the wall slightly, and the roll can't change directions unless you stop for quarter of a second before pressing the other way... unless you want to stand up and run that is.

I sent th cap to deadeye to have a look at, so hopefully he can optimise some stuff and make it sweet as.

Now I just have to add some more traps and cool effects, plus draw up some backgrounds and random details to add in... and a demo should be realistic within a week or two. I'm anticipating a finished game by Christmas time, but don't hold me to that lol.
