  • Hello! What website for buying installs do you use for Android? Also do you recommend doing this, or is there an easier (cheaper) way? Thank you!

  • scirra.com/store/construct2-plugins/easyleaderboard-4145

That is a super simple plugin if you need one and don't want to waste time.

Thank you for this! I didn't look deep into it, but how does the name of the player works? Do they have to write it down explicitly or does the leaderboard connect to something else from where it can get the username (like Google Play account)?

  • Hello! Is there a nice way to make a leaderboard in Construct 2? I see that Google Play is not working. I found a way to make a leaderboard using a personal website as a server, which is not ideal, but it works, the only annoying thing is that the name of the player must be given as an input during the game, which might get annoying. Is there a built in way to do this?

  • Hello! I am trying to implement Google Play into my game (I want to have a leaderboard). I uploaded my game on Google play, created a leaderboard and got the id for it. Then I used that in my game. I have a button which, when clicked, calls the function "Sign in" of Google Play (not sure how to upload a pic of my code...) and after that I call the function "Request hi-scores", using the id of my leaderboard. (I submit the score at the end of the game using: "Submit score"). I re-uploaded my game on Google Store but for some reason, when I click the button nothing happens i.e. the Google Play login screen doesn't appear, but no error is displayed either. What should I do to use the leaderboard feature of Google Play? (I don't want to use Cocoon.io) Thank you!

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Hello! How reliable are these pages where you can buy installs for your Android app? Does Google accept that, or do I risk my app to be banned from App Store? Also which pages do you use for that? Thank you!

  • Hello! I exported my game using Cordova and I made the .apk using build.phonegap.com (it was the easiest way to export my game since XDK is not working anymore). Everything works fine, excepts the ads. I tried adding this to my config file <plugin name="github.com/cranberrygame/cordova-plugin-ad-admob" source="npm" /> and this <gap:config-file platform="android" parent="/manifest" mode="delete"> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE"/> </gap:config-file> based on what I read on some other sites, but none of them work. Can someone tell me what plugin should I add or what other way of exporting my .apk should I use? Thank you!

  • They are all royalty free for use within Construct 2/3 projects. Please note however - you cannot profit from them in your creations unless you have an appropriate license.

Thank you for your reply. Could you please give me some more details about this? I want to make free games, but have ads in the game (so I guess this would count as profit). I do not intend to copy the game provided by Construct, I would have my own animations and sprites, but I was wondering if I can use parts of the code already provided in examples. As for as I know copying the gameplay of a game, with different graphics, is legal (hence why so many clones of popular games, such as Flappy Bird, which have ads in them). I was wondering if this is the case with the examples you provide. Thank you again for reply!

  • > Hello! Construct2 offers some already build games as examples. Is it legal to use them to build your own game (i.e. modify the sprites completely and change a bit the gameplay)? How much should it be changed, such that to not be accused of copyright problems? Thank you!

    >

You have referenced C2 but posted this in the C3 section.

Which version are you referring to, so I can move the thread? (if required)

Oh, sorry for this! My question is for both, as both of them are providing examples.

  • Hello! I managed to create a leaderboard for the game using a personal server, however the player needs to add its name manually, which is kinda annoying and they also need to decide whether they want to add their score to leaderboard or not. Can someone help me (or point me towards a place where I can find) how can I make the game to be connected to the Google Play account? I want the players to login using their google play account and work with that. Thank you!

  • Hello! If I use admob for ads in my game and upload it on sites like Opera Mobile Store or Amazon Appstore (beside Google Play), do the views and clicks on the ads in my game count from these sites too, or they have to be only from Google Play (if the type of ad is for Android)? I apologize if my question is silly but I know nothing about how this stuff works. Thanks

  • Hello! I read some stuff related to this topic, but I am still not sure how to do it, so I would really appreciate if someone can help me. I want to be able to share stuff from my app, like a link to the game on Google Play. I know how to make a button and when clicked to use the Browser Go to URL option, but this allows me to do one link per button. I saw in many games when u click the share button you see a list with different social media and the customer can choose where they want to share my game. So how can I do it this way? Thank you!

    > Thank you so much for your reply. I have a few questions if you want to advice me. As I see, to get 10 000 installs I need around 1000$. I was wondering, based on your experience, how fast can I get this money back and how much does this depends on the quality of the game? Like, even after I get 10 000 installs, I am still not sure that other people will further install my app. And when will the ads start to appear in my game, like do I need a minimum number of installs? Thank you!

    >

First, don't spend a $1000 dollar to get 10,000 installs. IF you use 6hourapp it will only cost you $458 for the 10,000 installs. Here check out this: 6hourapp.com/buy-app-installs-for-android-and-ios You will see that a 5000 installs cost $229 which = to $0.0458 per install. If you ask me is a really a cheap price.

Anyhow, when you will get your money back will it hard to say, because if your game that good maybe in week or month or 2, let me tell you something as soon as your app can be seen by others in google play your app will get downloads it's that simple.

[quote:34b4susl] And when will the ads start to appear in my game, like do I need a minimum number of installs?

that <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_exclaim.gif" alt=":!:" title="Exclamation" /> <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_question.gif" alt=":?:" title="Question" /> <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_exclaim.gif" alt=":!:" title="Exclamation" /> is not right the ads should shown from the start, you don't need a minimum downloads or something. Just be sure you set everything for admob to work right.

    I hope that helped.

    Good Luck <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" />

Thank you for you reply. It might be a problem if I added a feature for mopub ads, too? (I found a monetize your app video where this was suggested) Or is admob enough? Also, if the ads start on the spot, regardless of the number of downloads, how do I get paid? I thought it is based on the number of ads that are presented in my game and this depends on the number of downloads (more downloads more people want to use my game to advertise their products), but based on what you said, it should be something different. So how exactly does the payment work?

  • > Hello! I made a game and used CocoonJS to add ads to my game. I want to use admob to do this. I exported the game using Cordova and XDK and now I am trying to publish my game (first time ever) and in my Google Play account there is an option called In-app products. When I click that it appears "To add in-app products, you need to add the BILLING permission to your APK." and "To add in-app products, you need to set up a Google Payments merchant account.". Do I need to do this, for ads, or this is only for when you buy stuff inside the game (gems or crystals or stuff like that)? Also, if I need to do this, how can I add Billing permission to my app. Is this done when I make the setting for SDK build? Thank you!

    Hello there,

First, you need account with AdMob: google.com/admob then if you are done. sign-in to your account then go, Monetize New App --> Add Your App Manually. Then write your app name and chose the platform. click Add after that, then chose Banner and write a name for it down by "Ad unit name". After that click skip at Firebase for now. Finally Cilck at "Done".

it will take you back to new window. Chose your App from the left. Look at the right and copy your "Ad unit ID"

    look at the picture:

    http://imgur.com/ru44fcS

Second, in your C2 Project open it and do as follows: Insert New Object --> Admob Ads

Third, click at the Admob Ads in your C2. You will see its properties. paste your "Ad unit ID" to "Banner ID ( Android )" Or

    Banner ID ( IOS ).

    Fourth, do as follow:

Add event -> System -> On Start of Layout

-Add action -> AdmobAds -> Preload banner ad

-Add action -> AdmobAds -> Show banner -> Position: Bottom center -> size: Smart Banner -> Done

Then add this plugin to your Config.xml File:

        <plugin name="github.com/cranberrygame/cordova-plugin-ad-admob" source="npm" ></plugin>[/code:2bonzfvj]

    I hope this help...

    Good Luck <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt="" title="Mr. Green" />

Thank you for this! Is all this free? Or do I need to pay something to google? (For now they didn't ask for anything but I was wondering if later they will) Thank you!

  • > Hello! I made a game and posted it on Google Play. Those who are experienced in this, how should I proceed such that my game gets downloaded? I shared in some social media, but it seems not to be enough. Thank you!

It's a long road and not an essay one for your app to be popular, so it can be seen by other people on google play. First your app must have at least 10,000 download with good rating and reviews, so it can be seen. Of course what I'm saying is my own work and research.

    To get that big number of downloads I would advice you do Promotions for your game using Google Adwords, Facebook Promotions, and most important buying reviews & downloads, like;

    app2top.org
